What does it mean when your bunny wiggles his tail at you?  It’s a very fast twitching.  Usually I notice it when I’ve just let him out of his cage and he’s running off to play or when I’m shooing him away from somewhere he’s not suppposed to be.  Is it an “I’m kind of annoyed at you and I thought you should know?” kind of thing?  Sometimes it’s been accompanied by a foot flick which I KNOW is a peeved off bunny.  But sometimes not.  It’s very cute.    It’s hard to tell someone youre mad at them when they’re laughing at you.

It’s something not covered in ‘language of lagomorphs’ so tbh I’m not entirely sure. It seems to be an energetic annoyance….ARe they like inuit who have 100 words for snow-bunnies seem to already have so many ways to tell us ‘up yours’ lol

Rupert wiggles his tail when he’s about to dive at food and make Kahlua yield that food to him. Kokanee wiggled her tail whenever I was going to shoo her out of off of something when she was naughty. Also she used to steal things and hide them in her litter box-and while making off with the treasure (usually a napkin) her tail would be wiggling.

So maybe it’s just like a dog or cat wagging their tail-not a particular emotion-could be angry or happy or what have you-but really what it means is excited (Whether its in a bad or good way…hmm?)

Rumball does this too. Mostly when I’m shooing him away from something or some place also. I often say he waggle his tail when he’s been mischievous. It’s like the “tail end” of a shimmy! Maybe it’s like a reaction? Some energy runs thru them and end result is tail waggle.  He’ll sometimes do it when excited but mostly he’ll run in circle and half head binky when excited.

Best tail waggling I’ve seen was a vid of Peepi (member Peepi&Warri). I think it was Peepi…..

Fiver and Pip do this quite a bit and they are uppy ear bunnies. I don’t notice Mimzy’s doing this at all…I wonder if lops don’t have twitchy tails? But Peepi is a lop just like Mimzy so that doesn’t fit. Hmmm….

The other two seem to do this most when I’m cleaning them up…I think they’re just waving hello and telling me it’s about time I got around to washing up their messes. lol…But then, Fiver grunts at me to say hello too, so…

I thought you were talking about the bunny butt twitch when I first read the thread title. You know, like when they’re eating their cecals and the skin on their butts starts twitching? It’s supposed to be a sign of enjoyment and it’s totally hilarious.

Monkey twitches her tail when she’s expecting raisins. And when she shoves her nose through the pen bars wanting something. And when she’s about to pounce on the hubby.

Moose is too lazy to twitch his tail

Mellow twitches his tail at me first thing in the morning when I come in to let him out and give him his salad. It’s cute, kind of like a dog greeting, but I am sure that he is saying, “hurry UP!”

I see one version of the tail wag when I bring their tiny portion of pellets at 10 at night. Coco gives me the wag of “HURRAH! Pellets are here” as she dances.

There is another version when she and Jackson are playing – she will wag at him when he is chasing her – usually as she is about to do an evasive move.

Yep, that was Peepi! You know, I haven’t seen him do such a dramatic wag as that one on film since. I see little ones every now and then, but boy I sure got lucky filming that one.

I think in Peepi’s case, he wags the most when he’s getting into something new or making trouble. I think I see it occassionally when I bring pellets out too. I’ve never seen Warri wag.

I was just wondering about this this morning. I shood her out of my closet, and she wiggles her tail about half as fast as in the video.
I have been trying to decide what it means, but it’s in the same circumstances as you guys have described. It kind of looks like a “tee hee, I’m being naughty, you can’t catch me!” It seems a bit playful, and happens during AM or PM play and exercise time.

A boy bunny that whirls his tail around really really fast in circles is usually VERY excited if you know what I mean. (Immediately followed by his visible toothpick.)
