I was adding photos to Mimzy’s Bunspace blog and I’d totally forgotten, until I saw the file name on one of his earliest pix, that I was going to name him “Toffee” and if we brought home the REW (at the time I took the pic, it seemed there was only one) I was going to name him “Marshmallow”.

It’s funny how many BB members have bunnies named after foods. If you have such a bunny, would you post a pic with it’s name here please?

Mimzy…when he was Toffee to me…

I have a Toffee! She was bonded to Ms. Twizzler (may she rest in peace). I don’t have a recent picture of Ms. Toffee though.

I also have my little Dutch pair of Peaches and Peppermint.

Also Mango (but he came with that name, I didn’t name him).

Yeah, I guess I love food too.

the only cat I ever had was named Lambchop. Does that count?

I think Dutch bunnies remind me most of the checkered ice cream we used to get on our birthdays as kids. ^_^ One vanilla section and one chocolate, etc. All one of these buns need is a pink stripe and it could be called “Neapolitan”…lol.

Those are lovely names, Sarita. Who is the bunny in your avatar, btw? Is that Twizzler? (bless her)

That bunny would be Pepe. And I didn’t name him either. I think of the 8 I have right now I did name all of them except for 3.

I only renamed Toffee and Twizzler – their original names according to the shelter were Yogi and Flower and they didn’t know which was which.

Pepe was named by the people who found him. He was a stray somewhere.
Emmy was named by her former owners who rescued horses and somehow rescued her – cannot really remember her whole story.
Mango was named by his rescuer. He was a baby that someone released in an apartment complex and was found in the mouth of a dog by his rescuer.

I named Giselle, Maxine, Toffee, Peaches and Peppermint of my current rabbits. Maxine and Toffee came from shelters and Giselle, Peaches and Peppermint were strays.

IN the mouth of a dog?? 0_o I think I would’ve flatlined at such a sight!

Were Peaches & Peppermint strays you found or someone else?

(btw, as an aside, and related to the ‘food’ topic…Pip & Fiver thank you very much for encouraging me to feed greens consistently…after a few days of iffy droppings, they have both normalized and are enjoying their nightly treat now much better than their pellets)

Edited to add: Lamchop is an adorable name for a cat. Did you have any piccies of him/her?

Someone else found them and caught them. Some friends from a rescue and I tried to catch them but we were unsuccessful, the next day when we came back to try again, the person who had called us had caught them…so glad about that because these 2 little buggers were fast!

Glad Fiver and Pip are having normal poops :~) and enjoying their greens.

                      Tongues are pink!

My first bunny was named Little Sugar.  She was a REW neatherland dwarf with the best temperment ever!  I named her after my favorite horse at the barn I rode at at the time and becasue she was white

I had a gerbil named Cafe au Lait  My mom took French in high school and said his color (he was a lighter agouti, white tummy) looked like coffee with milk, so that’s what we called him. We used Caffie for short. Kind of a strange name for the pet of an 8 year old. Haha. He was a very sweet little guy.

We also had a black schnauzer named Raisin – she died when I was 6 so I don’t have any pics of her.

Otherwise, none of my other pets have had food names. I tend to like slightly unusual people names for my pets for some reason and the dogs we had when I was older were Dusty and Cindy (aka Cinders). I can’t think of a single horse I rode with a food name either, unless you count Merrymint, which is just a pun of merriment. I always though Merrymint would be a good name for a peppermint candy though

MM, I love that picture of Mimzy! He must’ve been pretty young when you found him since his ears are still uppy, though he doesn’t look young – he looks like a disapproving old man

                          Does a spice count?

Pepper got her name because she is black and white and VERY spicy!  Her shelter name was Annabelle Lee, which was WAAAAY too girly for my little bundle of rabbitude.

I had a dog named cinnamon.    A horse named Johnny Black  as in Johnny Walker.  lol

I had 4 gerbils named Nestle, Cadbury, Hershey and Smarties… Smarties had spots, the others were dark brown

Jersey is named after the sweet Jersey Caramels

Rumball is named after Rum Balls (obviously)

Hmmm…any chance we can send those yummy looking things up here? (the sweets, not the bunnies…lol!)

There’s some clever names out there! ^_^ I think I like Merrymint the best, that’s something I’ve noticed about all horses (and some pedigreed animals) is that they all have very unusual and sometimes very LONG names! We had a Weimeraner that I think my mom shortened his name to “Dusty” because it was some complicated something that had Silver Dollar in it and a few titles and it wouldn’t do to use that to call the dog everyday, of course.

tehe! Ta, Rumball does “cute” pretty easily.

This is my current fave cute pic of Jers.

MM, Merrymint was a great horse and he had a ton of personality! I think he was a higher level show horse (long before I rode him as a school horse) but I never heard what his show name was. It could’ve just been Merrymint – show jumpers tend to have shorter, easier names than some other disciplines and breeds (quarter horses always seem to have the longest and most colorful names).
