Hi, guys! It’s winter vacation, so I spend much of my time on sleeping and didn’t come here for a long time. (It sounds like hibernation…I’m a reptile, hehe~). I still have a subject, Molecular Biology, to teach next semester as my department needs time to find someone to replace me. So, I’m planning to fly to Canada in July, after I watch all games of World Cup. I’m a soccer fan, the same as my Fluffy…

But my heart is ready to go. I keep some necessary staffs and leaving most others to my relatives and friends. New life has new start, doesn’t it?

I found new slaves for ALL my pets, except the homeless cats. My pals would go on to take care of them. For me, that’d be a hard time to say goodbye.

And, I started to learn French, one of Canada’s official languages. Now I can say “hello”, “thanks” and “my name is …”. No big deal but please allow me be proud of myself a little bit, hehe ~
By the way, I got another 2 Kirby Bunnies ( the 3rd and 4th in line). One is brown and the other one, I’d like to call him “heart absent”. He seems always thinking of something else. So, RabbitPam, MimzMum and Monkeybun, please select your favorite. And there is one need to be adopted by slave.

          Here is a surprise!

When I was viewing the website of Humane Society of Canada, I found 2 pics of a lovely cat which resembled one I found home in 2005. She’s around 1 month old when I met her in a bus. She was attacked by an adult cat and a young girl took her for a treatment. I took some pics and started to contact my friends. One was attracted immediately by her lovely eyes. She stayed with me for one day before I brought her there by train. She was so cute and smart and, self-indulgent… She loved to “watch” movie, that was, slept in front of the screen. You could not turn off as she would wake up and ask you to go on. Once the movie started again, she fell in sleep again…And, an arm was a must, as pillow. We spent a night on train, traveling 1000 km, and she slept the entire trip in my arms.
Now she has grown up to a big girl, has been neutered, but keep her way of sleeping, in front of a active screen and an arm as pillow.

Awww such a cute kitty! *pet pet*

I like the ones with the pink ears, I’m a pink addict hehe.

You also now know more french than me, and I’m from Canada! Good job Lancy! You’ll do fine in Canada, and I’m glad you got good homes for all your pets there in China, and I also know that you will find more to give homes to once you get to Canada

Hi Lancy! I know what you mean about sleeping the winter away…I wish I could, but my pets have kept me hopping during this time. ^_^
Currently Mimzy is recovering from a tooth filing. I hope he will be back to normal soon.

I love the idea that you and Fluffy will be watching the World Cup together. I know it will be a very special and yet probably bittersweet one, yes?

Did you say you have found folks who will take care of the kitties? I love the picture of the one in your second post. She is lovely! What beautiful colors in the fur as well as the eyes. My youngest cat also fell asleep in my arm to charm me when I first brought him home, but it was while he was inside the sleeve of my jacket! xD If he could still fit, I bet that’s where you wold find him today!

Awes! Manjyu buns! ^_^ They’re like little dumplings. I feel odd to be the first one here to claim one, but I like the brown one, he reminds me of Mimzy.
Are you going to have special celebrations for New Year’s? I understand it’s supposed to be the 14th this month so it coincides with Valentine’s Day. The Year of the Tiger.
Just like the little tiger kitty in your post! ^_^

EDITED TO ADD: Aha! Monkeybun got here before me! ^_^ Good!

And I meant to comment on your learning French also, because my family were French and I heard it spoken quite a bit as a youngster. I am not as versed in it as I used to be, but may be able to assist you with the odd phrase here and there if you need it. Probably you will find people speaking a more conversational dialect than the technical type they teach in school, but I always found it was all about regional accent. Plus, most folks speak the language so quickly and fluidly you have to ask them to slow down so you can understand what they are saying. ^_^

Monkeybun, you have the pinky, who also has pink color on the face. I’ll try my best to help homeless animals in your home country.

Ninja! That reminds me of a french movie, Taxi 2. It’s very very funny!
MimzMum, you may tell Mimz a brown “dumpling”  would be an award when he come back to normal. That would be encouraging a brave boy, hehe~
We have a group of people taking care of these kitties, most are granies. They have retired and spend more time than I do. So I do not worry.
Once a habit happened to a kitty, it would last for good. Here is a pic taken 1 month ago, in which DiDi slept by my friend’s mum, arm as pillow.. And, DiDi recently did something mystery. When my friend went out for dinner, DiDi looked very unhappy. Once she came back, DiDi took 4 keys apart from the keyborad of her laptop, T, R, 2 and 3. After disccussion, we concluded that’s DiDi’s order for her own dinner: 2 cups of Tee and 3 pieces of Rib. You didn’t go with me, I gave you my “Di” Vinci Code.
The spring festivel is coming, and the campus was decorated with red latterns, though most students have gone back home. They would spend velentine’s day on line with their lovers, which are considered less important than spring festivel.
Thank you for your offer, I’ll try my best to study hard

Hi Lancy! Good to hear the big event is near. What Canadian State (Province?) will you be settling in?    That’s so funny you are already checking out the adoptable animals!   I think I know just the creature for you…

                                                                 Bizzaro Totoro!

Yes, it’s important to chosse where to live, so, before I made my mind, I did my homework to learn Canada’s culture, history, geography. It’s an amazing country, every corner attracts me. I even started to learn how to sing “O canada” . I once was thinking of Yukon, the territory of wonderland consisting themes of Matthew Lien’s music… Anyway, I need to think of my career as priority, so, I preffer to settle in Ontario Province, as there more zoos and aquaria, and several colleges providing AHT or VT courses. It remians an immature decision, as all my information came from web checkeing and, LonelyPlanet. I’m still digging something. I wish I could be a pro and serve animals better, that’s the biggest dream in my life.

From the artist’s blog I think it’s bizarro version of Totoro…

For every “thing” there is another version that exists in bizarro world.
I did this shortly after the Totoro Forest Project Auction

“bizarro” not meaning the character but rather the pop culture style : “The concept of “Bizarro” has been ingrained in popular culture where it has come to mean a weirdly mutilated version of anything” `~Wikipedia

That Bizarro just looks like a Totoro that hasn’t had his Azuki bean bun for breakfast yet today to me.

Lancy, you were thinking of the Yukon Territory? Wow…we would’ve almost been neighbors! ^_^ I think I’m just oh, say a few hundred miles to the west of that, near Fairbanks, Alaska.
I’d wanted to go there, and on up into the Northwest Territory, when I was younger and felt more up to the trip. I think now I prefer the comforts of more populated places. Once something gets a little TOO desolate, I start getting nervous. (Things like gas stations-and bathrooms- only every 1,000 miles or so…lol!)
It is beautiful country. I have to go back someday, just for a visit.

Actually, I stumbled across the image while looking for pics of comic strip “Bizarro” by Dan Piraro after member MikeBun posted a piccture of one. Different again!

I imagine the Bizarro Lancy would probably have an animal tucked under each arm and a few at his feet!

MimzMum, I feel the same way as you do. Especially after I got married, I need to think what will be best for my family. I couldn’t agree more that comfort is essential. So, for me, it’s not how to be a survivorman, maybe still a little… but the factors I consider the most are environment, job opportunities, cost of living and so on. I wish I could find balence between to make my dream come true and to support my family better.
However, Yukon is a part of my dream. My wife said she would go there with me, in summer! Hope we could get visiting visa to U.S.A, so that we could visit Alaska. I know there is a famous highway, being fantastic and worthy to visit itself!

Beast King and Optimus Prime belong to the same era, but the latter is more famous especially after the movies. I owned toys of both. The Beast King could change to 5 parts and each part was a dog? cat? or tiger? Sorry, it’s really long time ago…My brain hurts too.
Thank you for your blessing and invitation! Besides, I also heard other 3 sweet voices:

Isn’t that one of the Power Rangers’ ultimate robot forms?

Perhaps we’re thinking of the Beast Master, Lin? Only that was recently redone in live action, I don’t think it was ever a cartoon. But it did have a charming young man dressed in a loincloth with two companion ferrets.

Beast King sounds familiar, lancy. I remember some of my favorite animation from my childhood was Kimba the White Lion (they call him Leo now) and Marine Boy, both by Tezuka. You can’t find Marine Boy anymore because of the fire that destroyed the warehouse where the original films were kept.

Oh, yes! Leo, the jungle emperor. I saw it maybe in early 80’s when my family had our firt TV set, a black and white HITACHI. Jungle emperor was among the first catoons I’ve ever seen, besides astro boy. I also HAVE one book of the series from 1982 on my bookshelf! I bought from a school library. They traded it because it’s “old fashioned and useless”… In addition, the pic of the TV on the back was the exactly same type as we had! Sweet memory
