I dont have a scale, but I am curious! Willie will get big though, he is a flemish rabbit. I wanted him that way so my cats wouldn’t look at him as a meal. THey get along well with him, so didn’t have to worry. I would guess between 3-4 Lbs. he is 6 months old.

Mimzy: hovering (no, not hoover-ing ^_^ ) around 4.5 (holland lop)
Pip: must be well on her way to 9 by now >.< …naw, probably more like 6 (lionhead x palomino)
              Fiver: he’s such a shrimp…I don’t think he’s much bigger than 3.something (mini-rex)

funny thing I had NZW’s as a child and was used to big rabbits what about 10 lbs.  So when people tell me my 4lb8oz bunny is big I say what?  Thats little.

                Ruby is 4.8

Laith about 5 lbs.  She is bigger than Ruby.  Even with her mane and skirt cut off.  Her previous owner took the scissors to her.

Monkey is 1.5 lbs, she’s my itty bitty baby.

Moose is 3 lbs 11 ounces, he’s my big man. Well, he isn’t all that big, but compared to Monkey he is hehe

Fluffy is ONLY ~4lbs. All my firends told me she is overweighted.

That’s weird, lancy, I remember you saying that before when you posted videos of her chasing the soccer ball, and I had too look twice because I think Mimzy is rounder than she is…she can’t be overweight.
My vet says Mimzy’s weight is good and she was glad to see he’d gained another ounce or two.

My Levi was 11 pounds. One of the years that I chaired the school bookfair, I did an animal-theme carnival. I brought in Levi (the girlbun was too spazzy to go) and guessing his weight was one of the games. Several of the kids guessed 11 pounds.

Otto is around 4lbs. He’s just a little guy!

When we got him he was only 2lbs, so in the first few months he literally doubled in size and looked so big compared to what he had looked like. But now that we’re used to his 4lb size, he seems so tiny. It’s fun to go to the bunny shelter and hang out with the big bunnies (except many of the bigger ones are the least friendly, ironically).

                                Archie is about 3.5 lbs

Gracie is I think 4.5 lbs

And Sandy is 7lbs!!  She was only about 3 or 4 lbs when we got her as a baby but she’s gotten so big!

My largest Maxine is about 13 pounds or was the last time she was weighed however, she has been losing alot of muscle tone due to her arthritis and her atrophied back leg.

My smallest is my Dutch, Peaches at about 5 pounds.

ok, so it looks like im not crazy for thinking those rabbits are very big! wow maxine 13 lbs!! when i saw some of the bunnies that looked about that size i kept wondering how i would pick them up lol. its kind of intimidating to think about when your used to handling the smaller bunnies. i thought charlie was big and he isnt even 5 lbs yet. skibunny your bunnies are the same size as mine. monkey is soooo tiny!

Heck I think some of the smaller rabbits are as difficult to pick up as the larger rabbits. One of my rabbit Mango is a kicker and while he’s midsize, he’s easy to pick up but dang, the boy kicks!

I have to pick Maxine up daily now to medicate and clean her and it’s much easier now than when she was able – I had a very hard hard time picking her up and medicating her then. She was really all muscle. She can still kick and struggle, but just not as much. Before if I didn’t have to pick her up, I didn’t. It was too hard on both of us.

I’ll admit that I’m sometimes intimidated by the bigger bunnies at the rescue (though as I said, they tend to be less friendly than the little ones, by some fluke). It’s just scarier when a 10lb bunny lunges at you than when a 3lb bunny lunges! Haha.

thats exactly how i was looking at it elrohwen!! i originally wanted 2 bunnies from the shelter, until i saw how big they were. i kept thinking how the heck i would bond 2 big ones and what a fight would be like. kind of scared me out of it lol. so, one big one for now and 2 little ones lol. its really hard for me to pick up jack bc he is wild and kicks everywhere. he is my smallest. he is also the fastest.

Rosalie, I keep hearing how bigger bunnies are friendlier and I believe that, I’m just not sure what’s gotten into the big buns at the shelter 😉 There’s a big french lop girl who scares everybody! But in their case, I think it was how they were raised and treated that’s led to their personalities.

I still hope to get a big bun to bond with Otto some day, as long as she’s reasonably friendly.

And I can’t pick up my 4lb bun without a lot of effect, so I figure bigger won’t necessarily be harder.

Almost all of the big bunnies at the shelter near me are major lap bunnies!!! They are a piece of cake to pick up.
It is the little guys that are feisty!!

Kay & Winston are on the small side. Kay is 4.5 pounds. Winston is only 4 pounds.

I knew there was a size difference between Flemish bucks and does but I didn’t know it was that significant. I don’t feed her unlimited pellets, and she doesn’t get treats often; in fact, I’ve just started giving her tiny slivers of apple now and then when I work on her tricks with her.

I agree that 3-4lbs sounds very light for a flemish. My holland lop was 3-4lbs at 6 months old (though obviously he stopped growing at 4lbs). Since Bren doesn’t have a scale, maybe that weight is underestimated.
