Hi all,

My name is Layna and I recently purchased a beautful black and white rex bunny about 4 months old (was around 8 weeks @ Christmas).  I am not sure if Bo Bunny is male or female yet and the petstore hadn't known either.  Anyway this is a wonder pet store and Bo was so socalized and gentle.  He allows petting and enjoys hopping around the livingroom.  He was welcomed into our family and has many adopted brothers and sisters.  2 cats, 2, rats, 1 mouse, and 1 Savannah Monitor

Anyway I didn't want to post without a pic of Bo Bunny, but I"ll take one when I get home from work.

I do have a question though.  I enjoy crocheting and wanted to know if there were anything I could make for him to play with.  I'd use cotton of course and would watch for getting little toes stuck in anything or just weave it tight....  Anyone else make things for their rabbits?

Hi!!! Welcome! We do have some knitters and crocheters on here (I knit, can't crochet). I haven't made anything for my bunny though. Maybe one of our other members will have an idea. If your bunny is tolerant, you could try making a little sweater or something, buy goodness knows their fur is thick and warm enough! What about crocheting a little toy for your bunny? Some bunnies like having their own stuffed animals small enough to carry around in their mouth or big enough to use as a pillow or to snuggle with. It depends on your bunny and what his/her personality is like. Looking forward to seeing pictures!

That's my kind of bunny! (I used to have a Rex. Loved him.)

I once read a toy maker describe how she made natural toys out of sissel. I think you could weave it, and possibly raffia could be knit as well. It's the strands of edible fiberous materials that are particularly safe, even good for a bunny. Check out the toys section in the forum. You may not be able to knit or crochet something, but there are some really cute ideas if you're handy.

(Oh, and Monkeybun, the FBI called...)

LOL!  I do love him so much!!  I am so glad he is socalized.  He plays with my cats (supervisered of course) when the cat stops running, Bo will turn around and go chase him.  Other than that, he'll let me pet him, but I can't hold him yet.  Still reading up on how to do it, watched a video on bunny burritoing....

I'll be sure to get more pics!

I'll check out the toy section as well.

Welcome!

We could start a "Black&White Rex Club", consisting of Meadow, Leroy, and now Bo. -- Lint & Neigey  might get approval, too, even though they keep their black and white separately...

Hehehe! I love rexes! And yes... I think Leroy would like to be in that club... even though he's more dark grey and white than black and white

Bo is very cute!

Petzy, I LOVE that picture!

What a cute little guy!

I'm not sure if you could make him any toys, but my bun looooves anything knitted (though he's not actually allowed to have them). If I have an afghan on my lap he's all over it trying to pull out stiches and things. Lol. It's not his toy, and I scoot him away from it, but he loves it anyway. Silly buns. I'm sure your guy would love trying to rip out the yarn on your projects too.

Meadow is *technically* more of a very dark charcoal color... but I just call her black and white. Lol.

Oh Petzy, I would love to sit between that mini rex sandwich.

Just wanted to say your bunny is adorable!!!!!!  Oh, and Monster woudl like to submit his picture for membership approval into the black and white rex club, NE Ohio chapter.  He is all black expect for white socks and a white scarf if that counts!  Not quiet a broken pattern but I think he still meets the criteria.  But, I am also from NE ohio!  That should count for something!

Hi Layna, You're Bo Bunny is sooooo cute.
On the crafting front, maybe you could crochet Bo some hacky sacks out of sisal or maybe knit some sisal mats to put in his pen
