I have Lucy in an xpen set up, and just to save my carpet a little, I have a brown sheet down.  I went to clean the sheet, throw it in the laundry, and for the few hours it was in the wash, I put a yellow one down.  She hates it!  I went to another room for a few hours, and I come back to find the xpen pushed out away from the sheet, the sheet was pulled back and crumpled all to the back of the cage.  I put it back to the way it was, just to see, and came back an hour later to the same thing.  I guess she doesn’t like yellow! I’ve since put her brown sheet back & she’s fine.  What a stinker.

Rabbits don’t usually like change. Has something to do with prey instincts. If something has been changed, and they didn’t do it, then it was done by something that will eat them.

I know, but I guess I didn’t think something as little as a color would set her off. I have since learned my lesson!

Rabbits very likely cannot see color(no rods) Could be the smell? Or texture? Or just chaning it for one that’s not chewed and peed on? :p

Hmmm no I thought they could see color

I was watching a discovery channel thing about ducks.  They have a wider color spectrum than we do.   It was beautiful too .    What new colors I could see of what they showed the duck seeing that is.  Then they showed the eagle and his extremely clear detailed vision.

There was this website I went  to dont’ remember what it was named tho.  It showed a rabbits vision of 360 degrees. Yet they didn’t see directly in front of their face for a few inches out.   Don’t  remember if it was in color or not.  I thought it was.  I could be wrong tho

I wonder how scientists know that kind of stuff.  How do they find this out.

They have limited color range, but I did read that they can definitely differentiate between blue and green, which helps them know a field from the sky.

I’m betting she hates the smell more than the yellow. Find a yellow towel and see if she reacts the same way.
