Sorry MirBear...Lin's going to send Blossom to me if the 'rents make a fuss. ^_^
They won't make you give her up if they do find her, will they? If they did would your gentleman friend keep her for you till you found your own place? 0_0

I was wondering that too Mimz....What do you think they will do Lintini? I just saw this post and realized this was a "hidden" bunny. My parents would have killed me if I did that, especially since they would have known I would not have the money for vet care in emergencies etc and the burden would be on them.

I have to admit though....When I was 12, I bought a mouse without my parents knowing, and hid it in my room for a week before they found out. They were not happy. They didn't get very mad, but they made me take it back to the pet store.

Your room will soon become obvious though that something is going on....as territorial scent and marking may reveal the secret.

Seriously though....not to be a big party pooper of cuteness...but what is your plan --- keeping this a secret until you move out or what happens if the bunny does get sick or something? I'd be so anxious in your shoes.

My parents wouldn't do that. I'll show you my list of pets I've brought home without me asking

2 cats.
1 dog.
50 gallon fish tank
1 chinchilla - which turned into 3
3 rabbits
3 guinea pigs

I bring home stray dogs... etc lol

My parents will be upset, tell me I'm crazy, etc. But they wouldn't ever make me get rid of a pet. I take care of them fully and they don't have to do anything for them. My mom is on board to always help me though when I go out of town. I've taken in lots of animals without asking. Really my parents should give up already. It's in my blood, I love animals, my dad shouldn't act so surprised because my grandma did the same exact thing so they will just get over it. I just keep everything clean and stay on their good sides and it's okay. I think there are alot worse things that I could have done. I've been an excellent daughter for them, straight A's all through school, holding down the same job for almost 2 years now and working a 2nd job as well as college full time. I don't party excessively, I always try to make them happy and proud, I got a full scholarship to school playing french horn...I mean things could be so much worse than me just loving animals and caring for them. They should accept me for who I am and what I love but I know they just think i'll get out of control, well they say I already am. lol

If any of my pets get sick, my parents would help me with the vet bills if I couldn't afford them. Even though they get upset with me and my pets...the pom dog I brought home ended up being my mom's loyal companion and she even offered to pay me for him so I wouldn't take him with me when I move out. I was like mom...he's yours...he loves you, im #2! you are #1! And I am getting the blame for the second dog...which is now my dad's dog. She loves my dad and he carries her around the house like a football...its hilarious. a 6'4'' man who was in the olympics and super buff carrying around a 15 lbs dog. lol. Anyways...my parents wouldn't let any of our pets suffer and I'll get get eye rolled and wow you are so crazy lindsey why did you get another rabbit blah blah blah you need to pay for her spay too blah blah. That's about it, nothing serious. I'll probably bring her up to my mom in a few days so she'll see that face and forget about being mad :p

Sounds like you make them very proud and they are more than willing to help with vet care in an emergency. That's a relief - no wonder you are not anxious about it.

I just read your animal list to my husband and he laughed and said "They have a Ms. Doolittle on their hands!" and from the sounds of it, there are some "Doolittle" genes in your entire family. It's all making more sense now.

Looks like you are trying very hard to get Indy neutered asap so at least that will be less to worry about as well. We've had several posts about accidental litters lately, that certain situations now make me more nervous than ever.

Keep us updated with what the Director says (if she ever becomes available!) - hopefully she'll be able to give a discount.

Scholarship? 0_0
Congratulations, but...how long before you are in college? Will you still live at home while you attend? At least you don't have to worry about how you'd keep your eyes open for exam crams...Indy would see to that. ^_^

And ahhh...music. I should've kept up with my singing, I was planning on Julliard when I was 17. *dreamy eyes*

Ah I'm already in college Mimz, I'm graduating soon! Then I get to take classes for my teaching credential

BinkyBunny - The check and form for the voucher is going in the mail to the director in the morning, I got ahold of her, she sent me the form and I'm sending her $70 in a check and then she sends me the voucher and helps me set up an appointment.

So he will be fixed very soon! And same with my girls

Wow.. Julliard MM? You definitely should have kept up with the singing then! I've got a huge case of stage fright.. I couldn't even have more than 6 people at my wedding or I would have not show up lol. And the hubby still hasn't heard me sing, and hopefully never will hehe.

lol...Sorry Lin, my bad. Somehow I got the impression you were about to grad high school (Okay, I feel stupid. >_< )
Teaching huh? Good for you! I love music, but not enough to teach it. Can't even manage teaching my kids to play piano. *shakes head* No patience.

I don't like being onstage, MB, that's the weirdness of it. But at one time I loved being able to make people smile with my voice.

After years of abuse (yelling at the kids when they were young and intractable) I have nothing left to even call a squeak right now. But the daughter and I are sitting around watching Idol in the eves and it's funny to see how many people think they're going to get past Simon. ^_^

You know what? If my kids brought home animals I wouldn't be upset about it. But I'm always doing that myself so I'm probably on the rare side of the tolerence spectrum.

On the other hand...my 14 year old keeps telling me I'm going to be a hoarder. I told her she watches too much animal planet.

Rofl Tarm!! did you see that hoading show? It was like a intervention for them...this one lady would eat expired moldy food. She had a rotten pumpkin decaying in her living room...she wouldn't throw food away until the box or can "puffed."

Mimz it's okay, I get stage fright too when I have to do solo recitals, it's very scary!

I have to admit, ashamedly, that my daughter and I tend to pile things up. Not to the point of hoarding because we DO throw stuff away, but we just have too much stuff for our size of house and we both despise cleaning. (It really gets my allergies going, since the dust in this house is impossible to get completely out.)
I don't know how we got that way because I used to be a heck of a neat freak and I thought I'd taught my kids to be too. (When they were little, all during the day I'd collect all their toys for them and put them all in neat rows and junk...you know, real OCD stuff.) But now we've got so much junk between all of us, it's not even possible to manage the mess. I'm looking forward to having some giant garage sales this summer, if I can pry the son away from his videogames long enough to help me move some things outdoors. Whatever doesn't sell should just go to the Salvation Army. And hopefully I can get myself let go of some of the stuff I've been keeping for no good reason other than I just don't want to burn the calories to get rid of it.

When I was 6 I remember my folks throwing out everything I owned with the exception of my clothes, my bed, my blankets and my desk, because my room had become cluttered. It hurt me so terribly and I felt so betrayed that I swore I'd never let it get bad enough to cause them to do that again and I stuck with it for most of my life. Present day though, my kids and hubby are so lackadaisical that I get tired of tidying up after them because it just goes to heck the minute I turn my back...so....I guess I became the same way.
So I'm on strike. Permanently. lolz....I told the hubby to just get me a Con-ex container, and I'll move all MY stuff out there and they can have the house for all THEIR stuff. It could be a museum...we could charge admission! xD

Okay, now I sound like George Carlin. >_<

Anyway, I don't see how people can get that way with animals. I mean, the ones who don't clean up the litter boxes because they have so many and the scariest thing is they don't know when some of their animals have passed away... Jeez. In fact, the cleanest things in the house are my pets' areas. I tend to those before I do anything else. I look at it as a blessed distraction from all my other work. ^_^ And they don't give me lip when I tell them to pick up after themselves...lol.

Okay, back to topic...*ahem*
Did you ever get the roof on the pen, Lin? I was worrying that Blossom would find a stray button off one of your shirts or something...since she's not tall enough to actually pull them down. ^_^ I keep my spare pen mats on top of Fiver's habitat to keep anything above him from falling haphazardly into the pen with him. He's gotten to feeling rather vulnerable when I have to wash all of them because then he has no ceiling! 0_o You'd think he'd enjoy the extra light he gets from up there.
