On my way to work I found a little yorkie mix walking down my court yesterday. I stopped my car and called him and he ran over to me. Of course he had no collar on. It was pouring down rain and he was soaking wet. he’s maybe 5lbs and a total cutie. I drove around my neiborhood 3 times and didn’t see anyone outside looking or driving slow. I called into work late and then set him up in our guest room with some water and a bit of food. My mom took him to the vet when she got home (I had to go to work). No chip and he isn’t fixed. Sigh. We put an add in the paper, put up signs and let the local shelter and local vets know he’s here and safe. My neihborhood is right off a extremely busy street and we are right across the street from the dog park, which is amazing just be able to walk there, but deadly to pets that escape because that’s the first place a lot of dogs like to run off too. Anyways, we haven’t heard anything yet, a lot of people called for dogs that didn’t match his appearance. I hope people didn’t just dump him, he’s super cute. I’ll post some pictures soon…my mom already named him Henry but “WE AREN’T KEEPING HIM.” Hopefully we’ll find his owner…I have a really bad feeling though that he was dumped because he smelled terrible..worse than wet dog, and he hasn’t been groomed, really crusty eye tear duct goop and his face fur is out of control. He’s SO CUTE THOUGH!!! I don’t know how anyone could do that. My mom found a pom a year ago running with his leash on, terrible mats, no house manners…sigh. I have a bad feeling he was dumped, but who would dump such a tiny little guy? I swear I think peope dump dogs here because of the dog park. Anyways, I’ll post pictures in the morning, he’s sleeping right now! I hope his parents will call for him soon. We already have friends wanting him if we can’t find them in a few weeks! My mom cried when the pom we found last year found a new home after saying with us for 4 weeks without any word from his owners.

It was my first time in over a year and a half being late for work, I think it was worth it.

I have no idea, my mom was driving up the street and actually saw the people at one of the signs she made, and then they called her and said exactly what the dog looked like. She said she’s right behind them and to follow her home. They lived like 5 houses up the hill apparently. I hope they can keep him in the house better. It scares me seeing dogs running around since that street off of our neighborhood is 55mph. Wickett our pom got out once a few years ago and what does he do? He sprints down the hill heading to the dog park. *grumbles* He’s so attached to my mom though now he wouldn’t dream of it.

Poor Pup. He might also have just been let out, and they expect him to come home on his own. (I know, it’s been a long while for that) Someone on the next street over from me lets their dog out. He follows me when he sees me. Once I was walking my dog, and he came over to say hello. I bent down to get my dog away from him, and he bit me. They just let him out and don’t care. Once his owners asked me if he was bothering me (his name is literally Fluffy) and I said no. They told him to go off, and he did. Another time I saw and heard some kids returning him for reward money. I felt bad because I knew they wouldn’t have any reward money for them.

I hope Henry finds his owners, or gets a nice new home.

Thanks Rabbit, he did today! They lived just up the street from us! They already set up a play date at the dog park since our 7month old pup Leia and him had such a great time together. I think my mom said his name is Gizmo.

Have you been having storms in your area? There is always a chance that a fence blew down, or rain washed the dirt out from under a fence. I’m glad that he didn’t get too far from home!

You know, people up here let their dogs run all the time, even though there’s a leash law (of course no one follows it) and it drives me nuts to see dogs wandering around at very vulnerable times like when people are driving home from work or right before freeze up. It’s a pretty well known area for letting any animal loose though.
When my dogs would break their leads, I was off after them the minute I knew they were missing, which was usually within the next five minutes to no longer than an hour. (Especially with Shadow, who looks so wolf-like I could see him getting shot by a frightened neighbor.) I guess I just have too much fear about what will happen to my dogs, who will find my dogs or who my dogs will find and what will happen…and animal-related lawsuits fly like hummingbirds around here for any transgression.
I’m fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mom too and have the time to go looking, but still…how can you just let an animal go missing like that and not follow up more quickly? (Henry’s condition when you found him denotes some serious time passage or perhaps neglect.) Within minutes of losing any of my animals I’d be on my computer and printing up fliers to go anywhere I can pin them.

Anyway, I’m glad the owners were found. Let’s hope they learned something.

My dad was working out tonight in the garage and felt something at his leg…

Rosco (his real name, I thought it was Gizmo) was BACK!! My dad walked him up the hill and brought him home. Tonight I got home at 9:30pm…and guess who ran up to me…Rosco…AGAIN. *rolls eyes* They have a hole or something in their fence or the kids are letting him out. His owner was so embarassed, but I don’t mind, its a short walk and he’s a doll …but seriously he could get hurt if they don’t figure out how he is escaping.

                              Yes Kyt…very very stormy here!!

Hm. That’s not good. (the escaping I mean)
I guess we should nickname him the Birddog of Alcatraz? 0_0 Or maybe Houdini?
