Fudge is the lionhead mix, all brown. Caramel is the half tan and white with black spots.

In case anyone here has been following my other posts, Daisy found a great new home with a young cute
couple who have friends with bunnies so they know what they are in for. She went home with her
cage, hay, food, toys, water bottles and dish. So she should be comfortable!

                          Lettuce.
I peel off a leaf or two every 2 days or so, and that was the left over stump and some smaller leaves.

It used to be just the empty tank, and I just filled it up and started it, so the new junk in the way was too interesting to leave alone.

                                    Whats the difference?

They each get a baby carrot every few days and a little piece of broccoli. It’s all we have in the house for now.

Iceburg is not good for buns, it has no nutrients, pretty much just fills them up without doing anything good for them. Try romaine or greenleaf

Ah, well, it trained them to come to me, so it did do them some good.

I definitely suggest getting rid of the iceburg, i believe it can also cause digestive problems like diarrhea, so I wouldn’t chance it. Diarrhea can be a bun-killer. Stick with romaine or greenleaf

They ate the whole thing, 2 weeks. No diarrhea, no more lettuce, they are pigs.

I go through 3 heads of romaine per week on my one 4lb bunny! Haha. Sometimes I have to get four heads if the lettuce is very small.

I’ve always heard, for guinea pigs and rabbits, that you should only give them small amounts of any treat a day.
Soooo, how much of what is ok?
And they got 2 baby carrots last night, since they were begging in the fridge…
They stand up against the shelves/drawers every time I open the fridge. My Dobie does the same thing, except he just sticks his nose in.

Well, veggies aren’t considered a treat – according to HRS guidelines veggies are a very important part of the diet, second only to hay.

HRS recommends 2 cups of veggies per 6lbs of bunny, but many of us feed more (I probably feed my 4lb guy 3 cups per day). Carrots don’t count as “veggies” because they’re sugary and treats – they’re really more like fruit which should only be given as treats in small amounts. So maybe one baby carrot a few times a week. Or a small piece of fruit a few times per week. Iceberg lettuce is a no-no in general, for the reasons MB mentioned.

There’s actually a really good diet section on BB – just go to the Bunny Info tab above and click on Diet. There’s also a great veggie list there that shows what you can feed and what you can’t. Generally, leafy green veggies and herbs are the best and healthiest for their daily diet.

Ok, then it sounds like you would need 2 cups of veggies to split between them per day. The recommendations are only minimums, so you can feed them more than that with no problems. Did you take a look at the diet guide?

Well, both rabbits now know how to jump in and out of their cage! There’s no top to the C&C circle cage. They jump on a box and fly over the edge onto a tv stand. And of course, back the same way to get in. Fudge is more shy, so she doesn’t do it at night or all the time. They refuse to be locked up, lol. Our new Aquarium stand is now a climbing fun-house for them. And yes, they licked and got white paint all over them….they just don’t listen.
