Jen just posted this.  I’m afraid they might toss them on the streets by Saturday!  Can anyone help out or foster them until Jen gets them adopted?  She doesn’t have any room at the shelter   I so want to do it but I don’t think we have the room to do it.

Oh the poor things… I hate when people take animals, and then throw them away when they get inconvenient… I mean, the person had to ahev known for awhile that her fiance was allergic

Do you wonder how long it will be before she or the fiance become allergic to the 8 year old? *shakes head*
What a sad cl post. I’ll keep these two sweet bunnies in my prayers that this is a turn for the better for them. I hope they find a good forever home.

Fiance had to be a boyfriend first…which means he should have been allergic for awhile now…adopting an 8 year old for 2 weeks? I love the dirty cage. Story doesn’t make much sense…most things don’t make much sense at 4:30am …meh. Craigslist people make me mad.

For heaven’s sake! They need to take them to a shelter. Hasn’t anyone suggested that to her. This is why I never look at Craigslist.

Something tells me with the “tight schedule” she wouldn’t have time to drive them to a shelter. Yeah the whole fiance’ thing doesn’t make sense. I’m not understanding the 8 year old….is it a adopt a kid for X-mas, seems a bit odd but then again I don’t know how adoptions go. I’m going to email and ask if they can take them to a shelter.

Update: Jen rescued them and the mini lop is fine but the nethie has URI and teeth problems and is skinny and ran over to the pellets and started pigging out. Doesn’t make sense since they’re both together. But at least they’re getting the care they deserve. She’s such a saint for taking them in even though she has any room.

I’m sorry that I’m going to sound cynical, but I just have to say Do not believe everything you read on Craigslist.
When it comes to the bunny and other animal ads, the otherwise good website can get pretty sketchy. People make up some real sob stories to unload an animal they just won’t care for, or buy one and resell it, etc. etc. There’s no real way to check for truth or even the real identity of the poster. It can be dangerous to respond to some ads, as has come up in the news in recent years.

I think that’s why it’s better to limit your time reading Craigslist ads. Certainly consider whether you want to re-post their ads on a ligitamate site like this one. There are shelters. There is a humane society. There is animal control a phone call away in every county. A good animal control officer will get an animal out of danger and into a shelter faster than any ad on a website. It’s very, very sad when someone wants to dump a pet. But please consider whether you want to be the one to help them do it. They have more options than a deadline ad suggests.

P.S. Just to let you know I am not trying to slam Craigslist in general, I want to say that I got my current job – the best on I’ve had in years – by an ad on Craigslist from someone who had never posted there before, and I had only been reading for a few months. It was a great link to a place I knew of very well. I was able to look them up to confirm the ad before responding.

FYI – I’ll be deleting this thread soon anyway – since these bunnies now are out of their hands, I don’t think it is a good idea to keep the person’s info up. They will have the choice to take it off Craigslist, but it will sit here (and be searchable)  forever. (I’ve taken the PH# out)

Rabbitpam, it’s a good point that a lot of stuff can be made up. The whole story sounded sketchy to me. I try not to go on that site…I saw the ad from a post on facebook actually. I almost got scammed on craigslist trying to sell something (good thing someone warned me first!), so I don’t trust the site that much. I took the all the info out and just left the pictures up. I thought that after so many days they take it off of craigslist….at least that’s what I thought when I posted an ad once that after 30 days it’ll go off.
