Frizzer hasnt gone for his pre-neuter appointment yet, it’s this tuesday. but ive already started thinking about it all the time!

i love frizzer the way he is, and im worried his personality will change a ton after he’s fixed.  im going to get him fixed regardless, its best for him and he misses his female friends, but i really wish this wasnt an issue! he’s hilarious, the way he runs around and chins absolutely everything in his site! and the way he digs at my pants when im wearing them, etcetcetc.

im sad that part of my baby might not be the same afterwards. lets hope behavior doesnt change for this neuter!

I have to say that my Pepe rabbit who has been neutered for at least 5 years still acts like a lover boy and even my first rabbit was still very active and animated.

I guess I have never thought that their personality would change because I’ve never really seen any noticeable behavior changes. Even my Giselle rabbit still likes to dig and stuff and she’s been spayed since 2003.

Aww sgregory… I worried about the *exact* same thing before Remy got neutered, because I could hardly believe how lucky I was to find such a sweet bun. Now he’s even sweeter than he was, which is hard to believe!! He’s actually zooming around the living room right now, as we speak.

I’m sure that frizzer will be just fine and his personality will still be intact… even if his special parts aren’t anymore (!)

My little guy never really did the typical pre-neuter behaviors and that didn’t change after the neuter. However, he’s become way more affectionate in recent months, so I’m sure your guy will too! He’ll be able to be affectionate without wanting to hump you 😉

Think of it this way, he’ll be your boy without that annoyingly strong urge to reproduce. It will totally make him happier! It might not change him too much either. Nova still marks things with her chin, and heck, she even still pees on things just because she can!

Mimzy hasn’t been any different from his neuter, almost two years ago now. He still lunges, nips and grunts at me when I invade his personal space, which was my biggest complaint. The only thing I haven’t seen him do is the circling and honking, but he’s still a power snuggler when I get him alone.
I also don’t have a squirting fountain of urine when he wants to claim something…now it’s more like stealth pee. >_< But that's what puppy pads are for.

I think the biggest difference in a bunnie’s behavior is age, not neuter. They can mellow out, but that happens after about a year old or more, and some never do. It’s going to help his true personality come through because he won’t be coping with raging hormones. So if you see a change, it’s going to be maturing adulthood, not the neuter.

ditto RabbitPam. You may find some changes due to his aging but as you’ve bonded with him at such a young age, I would think he’ll still love you.

just focus on the positive- that the undesirable male behavior will lessen and it makes the worry easier to bear.  If Frirzzer does not go in for the “big snip” your poor girls will have much less freedom and safety from unwanted litters!  Does you vet offer a multi pet discount?

i was actually wondering if they did katnip, and was going to ask when i brought frizzer in. i figure with the three girls i can wait and get them all done together, or around the same time.
im glad you brought it up though! i almost dismissed it as wishful thinking. 😛
