I have a fresh garden outside (still thriving in the Winter!), but I need advice about what I can feed him from it…

        Here’s a list.

        Tomatoes

Mint (Already fed him some since I heard it’s safe, he gobbled it up.)

        Thyme

        Sage

        Curry

        Oregano

        Rosemary

        Lemon Thyme

        Radishes/Leaves (leaves are still prickly)

        and

        Spinach

Which of these are safe/not safe?

Tomato fruit is safe if ripe
          Mint is safe, and nommy
Thyme is safe, not sure about the lemon variety
          Sage is safe
          Not sure about curry…
          Oregano is safe
          Rosemary is safe
Radish TOPS are safe, radishes themselves are usually tolerated, but some buns are sensitive to them
          Spinach is safe

Tomatoes – I don’t think tomatoes are good – I haven’t actually ever tried, or seen them on the list that I use, so just to be cautious I would say no on the tomatoes, but someone else may have a different opinion

Mint (Already fed him some since I heard it’s safe, he gobbled it up.) – Yes it is safe, my bunnies love it too

Thyme – Safe, I usually only give them a sprinkle of it in their bunny salads, so I haven’t tried a whole lot of it at once.

Sage – Safe, like the thyme, I usually only give a little bit at a time

Curry – I’m not sure about this one – maybe someone else knows?

            Oregano – Bunny Safe

            Rosemary – Bunny Safe

Lemon Thyme – This is the kind that I have too, and what I give to my bunnies, they seem to really like it!

Radishes/Leaves (leaves are still prickly) – Radish tops are OK

            and

Spinach – Bunnies can have a little from time to time, but not a whole bunch at once

The source for my info. is the BinkyBunny veggie list which is here: Veggie List

Tomatoes – The fruit is safe, but not the tastiest treat you can give a bunny

Mint (Already fed him some since I heard it’s safe, he gobbled it up.) – My bunny hates mint, but it’s safe.

              Thyme – Safe

              Sage – Safe

Curry – Not sure. Is this a spice mix?

              Oregano – Safe

Rosemary – Safe and very popular among bunnies.

              Lemon Thyme – Safe

Radishes/Leaves (leaves are still prickly) – The leaves are totally safe (and a big favorite of Mr. Bunny’s), and the bottoms are safe fed sparingly. Basically, the whole non-bolting (producing seeds) plant is safe.

              and

Spinach – Safe, but high in calcium so not for feeding in large amounts

Thanks. I’ve been a fairly bad bunny dad when it comes to giving him new things (I know, only guy ever registered to this site?), but I’m a bit bored, so I figured it doesn’t hurt to learn a bit more about my rabbit.

                  Never hurts to keep learning

There is tons of info on this site, check out the links up at the top under Bunny Info. Lots of goodies there

There is a silvery plant called Curry plant? Is that what you have?

Yep. Much like Rosemary in shape, but silver-blue.

Actually you’re not the only guy on this site.  There are several regular “dudes” here too.

I learned something new now I didn’t know buns could eat tomatoes, I think mine would turn their noses up at them though, they are quite picky, and really only like about 5 types of greens.

The red part is ok; no tomato vines or leaves though!

I have a fresh garden outside (still thriving in the Winter!), but I need advice about what I can feed him from it…

                                      Here’s a list.

Tomatoes [Once a while to feed tomatoes, it’s high acid for rabbit BUT DON’T FEED TOMATOES’ LEAVES]

Mint (Already fed him some since I heard it’s safe, he gobbled it up.) [Of course, it is safe to feed rabbit]

Thyme [Of course, it is safe to feed rabbit]

Sage [Yep, it is safe to feed rabbit]

Curry [Umm, never heard of it before]

Oregano [Yep yep, I love it and it’s safe to feed bunnies ]

Rosemary [Yes, its safe to feed rabbit]

Lemon Thyme [Don’t feed lemon thyme to rabbit]

Radishes/Leaves (leaves are still prickly) [Leaves only.. not radishes]

                                      and

Spinach [my vet recommned not to feed spinach to any bunnies]

Which of these are safe/not safe?

Read above to see my comments

On that note(tomatoes and leaves) the leaves are also toxic to other animals so don’t let your dog munch on them either!
