        I thought I’d share my thoughts after a 1st crazy week of house-bunny ownership…

I worry  why that poo is the wrong size, colour or looks at me funny, even though there are thousands of perfect poos. I worry when one of my bunnies doesn’t do much, even though I’m not actually doing anything. Are they eating enough hay, is it the right type and exactly how many pellets should they eat, to the nearest whole pellet? Why did they fight? Why is one so outgoing, while the other is shy and skittish? Why won’t they sit still to be groomed? Why am I worrying about this after a week? Why has my tea gone cold?

So, after all this worrying, reading books and articles and getting more worried about the slightest little thing or being paranoid about “what could happen if…”, I’m going to chill. The rabbits will be much happier with a relaxed human (as I’m sure they can pick up any tension through their whiskers! ) and the relationship with these amazing animals will be much more rewarding without the tension. If anything bad happens I’ll deal with it as it happens. I think it’s one thing to be prepared but quite another to expect the worst. Hopefully some of you will know where I’m coming from!

You should read “Are you going to eat that?” A funny book on rabbit behaviour.

OH yes that is a funny book.   Love the title too.    Well stay away from etherbun site.  You will worry yourself sick if you go there.

Rabbits are fragile but hardy too.   So worry wart relax and stay calm.   Your bunny is quite normal  even sitting there staring at a wall or what not.  lol

enjoy your bunny    When I first got mine and I subscribed to etherbun  I was thinking these bunnies are so fragile if I look at it the wrong way it might die.     The truth is far from it though.

they can be quite hardy. as you will find.

Love your funny post though.  Yes us humans do lie there appearing to stare at this strange box that makes noises and has different images on it.   Wonder what the buns think of us doing this.

I definitely know what you mean! The first week or two was so hard because you read all the research, but you still don’t quite know what to expect. And after reading so many horror stories about stasis and other things, it’s so easy to worry over nothing. I definitely calmed down a lot in the first few weeks and now I’m a pretty calm bunny-mum! I do keep an eye on him if he doesn’t finish his meal by his usual time, but I don’t get worked up about it anymore. Good luck being a new calmer bunny slave!

P.S. BT I had to laugh about the staring at a wall thing. Lol. Why do they *do* that so much?? Haha
