Should I ask for a PS3?

In another post someone mentioned lists for christmas and that got me thinking about what I have been wondering for a while.

Should I ask for a PS3 for christmas? I don’t know if there are any video game players on this site but what I want to know is:

Are there enough good games for it to be worth it?

Do you think many more good games will come out in time?

Do you think it is worth buying?

My dad wouldn’t have a problem getting it because he would probably enjoy it as well, but I am just wondering if I SHOULD get it. Thank you!

I have a PS3 and I absolutely LOVE it. There have been a lot of great releases lately too (my current favorite is Uncharted 2). Since it’s been around almost 2 years now, the game library has expanded pretty well. Most major titles (with the exception of Microsoft exclusives) are released on the system now. The PS2 is phasing out within the next sixth months, so much more development is being focused on the PS3 games.

Plus it is great (and a good deal) as a Blu-Ray player. Online play is free. Netflix is finally teaming up to do streaming rentals. You can watch TV shows in high-def, browse the internet, and do so much with the system other than just play games.

I could go on and on… Can you tell I work for a video game company? Hahaha. If there’s anything more specific you want to know

I have only just purchased the PS3, so I dont know much about the games etc that are around… But it is brilliant for media. It does everything my Iphone does, and MORE! Love the media set up on it!!! Its great for the home cinemal because you can store all your music on it and not have to worry about CDs etc. And all your photos and home movies can be on it too!!!!!!!
We also have a Wii, Dsi, Ps2, Xbox 360 and PSP… Wii is by far the best! the graphics arent as detailed as the PS, but the gaming is brilliant!!! I can not speak highly enough of the Wii! Love it! Except the wii fit keeps screaming “OBESE! OBESE!” at me! Damn fit!

PS3 appears to be awesome tho. you should def ask for one!!!

I’m an xbox girl, but that is mostly because all of my friends have them and we all have parties playing the games while hooked up via a router. And we are Halo junkies. So yeah. I personally love Little Big Planet though. I think if my group of friends had the money to actually afford PS3s we would play with them more. Plus my boyfriend doesn’t like the controller… Grr.

Not really but that’s always been PS problem-they just never have enough games. But there are good games and it’s the cheapest high quality blue ray player on the market as well.

mmm….??? What type of games do you play? I’d check out the games first-and ensure there are enough you like

It’s cheaper and smaller then when it first came out! And it’s the cheapest blue ray player.

I’d use cords (HD remember!) and controllers etc to determine cost outside of console cost..but now is a good time to buy it-it’s come down about 200$ in price here

I love our PS3, but my hubby plays it more than I do (and I play Wii more than he does). For me it is worth it just for Little Big Planet alone, but we got one of the backwards compatible PS3’s, so we are able to play all our old ps2 games on it as well. I also love games like Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, and God of War, so games like those will always continue to be made and the graphics for them are better on the PS3 than on the Wii.

I also love some of the downloaded games on the PS3, and we stream our music from our laptops to the PS3 so that we can listen to it through the surround system. It also has the blu-ray player and we can look at our pictures on it by just taking the memory card out of our cameras and putting it right into the PS3.

I’m a video game junkie though. I need to figure out a way to make a living playing video games lol.

Also I was wondering if I should get a 120 gb or 250, I am leaning toward the 250 just because Id rather have too much memory than too little.
