Found these boards just a few days ago after I found my bunny. ^^
I was at the feed store and she was sitting on top of some rooster cages. I found out she was abandoned at this feed store's doorstep. I'm guess by the time frame they gave me she was one of those Easter mishaps. I watched a man who wanted her come in handle her like produce. I locked eyes with the bunny and decided that she was mine heh ^^ She doesn't have a name yet still deciding.
No one at the feed store seem to know what breed of rabbit she is. They said dwarf but I'm not sure that seems right. While we're saying Hi I was wondering if anyone would have a clue what breed? She's about 8 months old (they said) and marked like a blue himalayan cat. Can't wait to buy her a better cage something that will be roomy now and later when she's older. Eh I'm winded hello ><
Welcome! Shes lovely. It sounds like you took her just in the nick of time. Away from the other interested buyer. Maybe call her Nicky! lol Breeds are tricky - it's only ever a guess. We have had some members post pic of some accidental litters lately (you may have seen). A black netherland dwarf has produced 3 dutch looking rabbits and a black havana (possibly) has produced 4 different coloured rabbits. There's often some traits you can pick of certain breeds but chances are she's a delightful mix of many breeds.
Oh what a cutie! I sounds like you were picked by your bunny- that is how I got started in bunnies. I was not looking for a bunny and could have given you 10 reason why I would not have a rabbit....then I saw Cotton and held her- I was a goner from that point on- and now have 3 bunnies.
Welcome!
