This morning I left early to go to this silly makeup party my friend was having, and Dave and Mikey stayed home (neither have an interest in facials or eye shadow). Sometime after I left, Mikey went to get my camera and try to fix it
(maybe he heard me complaining about what a peice of junk it is) and chewed it up. So that’s why I cannot give you pictures of my guests I’ll see if I can talk Dave into letting me use his cellphone to take pictures…
Dave was going in and out all day as he’s doing some flooring. Came to tell me there was kittens next door the feral cat I’ve been trying to befriend so I can get her fixed, had kittens. Our neighbors had covered up a corner with a blanky so we went to talk to them first (and ensure it wasn’t their kittens) before I scooped them.
They are 6-7 weeks old and I was able to get two. Mom and the other two are presumedly under our stoop and I can’t get to them. I presume because Mikey’s having a cow-and snow foot prints.
Dave is giving me time to find homes for them, and I’m hoping tomorrow the other two are out and I can scoop them. Otherwise the stoop is getting uprooted!! If those kittens take off, they’ll be having more kittens by spring!
Hopefully I can give you all some pics soon!! I have a little black and white long haried, and one orange and white. A calico and a full black are still MIA.

One of our cats we found as a stray. Found him one evening, all alone outside, under a parked car. I couldn’t believe that someone hadn’t lost this cute little kitten and wasn’t looking for it. Took him home, he had no tags and no tattoo in his ear but then again our cats are microchipped and not tattoo’d so the lack of tattoo didn’t necessarily mean he didn’t have a home. Also discovered that in Edmonton it’s illegal to keep a stray animal, you have to turn them in to animal services. So we did that the next day, and when he wasn’t claimed by anyone after a few days they called me up and told me I could have him.
I must have checked the animal services website every half hour to make sure he hadn’t been claimed yet, lol.

They are doing great!!! Eating little kibbies and goat’s milk. We are off to purchase a cat trap (we saw them in a store a few weeks ago) and we’re going to catch mom and the other two babies!! Wish me good luck
The plan is to find homes for the babies (becasue Dave won’t let me keep them!) and then mom is going for a spay and back outside. She’s feral and was born outside and has been homeless five years. The shelters are full and no one would take a feral-they aren’t even taking owner surrendered, fixed animals with as surrender fee; so I think we’re going to do like others do about ferals-fix em and let em be. She’s apparently had tons of litters since showing up-poor dear.
I am borrowing a cam from mom at thanksgiving dinner tonight so I’ll probably be able to do pics soon!!

First and foremost my mom is bringing me her old cam to borrow tomorrow
Bought a cat trap and caught momma within a half an hour. She is WILD!! We got her transferred to a kennel easily though. Then I found the little black kitten across the road sleeping by the fence. We’re not entirely sure if there were three or four cats as our neighbors saw them and they aren’t entirely sure. We have the cat trap baited and set though, and I’m out every hour (As well as three of my neighbors listening and looking. IF there are other kitties-we will find them.
Momma is getting spayed. I’m going to phone our spay clinic and if they say they don’t do ferals…Then I’m going to call back in a few hours and tell them I need *my* cat spayed, and will warn them shes upset and hard to handle….but she is getting spayed no matter what.
I have homes for two of the three or four. So things are good!! And pics soon-I promise I’m the paparrazi after all

Picture time!!
Crazy Momma (or-“I call the big one Bitey”) Mom is a Calico-very pretty! We put her in our dog kennel-it’s the largest size they make. She’s settled down a lot since she came in (The first thing she did when she came in the house was scream at Dave and pee) -now she is talking to me, and a little hissing-but no striking. Nonetheless, I’ll be giving her pain meds after surgery by putting them in treats!! I do not like blood loss!

hehehe Kahlua was stomping for the first hour-she was not impressed. Noot is intrigued. Chuck doesn’t care-as always, he’s just chilling.
It was funny Rupert went up to check them out and then one kitty hissed, he ran (bolted in his very ungraceful fashion) which scared the kitties, Kahlua and Mikey LOL
So basically no one is impressed. But its just a few days of extra work, extra stink, extra poop. Soon they’ll be off. *fingers crossed*
I did not believe Dave about how much cat poopy stinks-but umn, yeah I believe him now. I’m not having a cat until I have a house big enoough to put a litter box where I will never catch a whiff!!

BAH!! I made her spay appointment. The spay clinic is the cheapest in town. My friends cat neuter was 65$….Momma’s spay? 140$ as long as she’s not in heat or pregnant. She BETTER not be pregnant or in heat OMG

I spoke to a woman at work who lives in the country. Shes phoning her friend to see if she needs a barn cat. I told I am footing the bill for the spay, and she’s not a pet-but I’d prefer her in a barn then under my house-she’d get fed, catch mices and no roadways around

That is so great that you could help that whole cat family! I hope your fave kitten does well – I’m sure she’ll love her new home. Whenever I want another pet and Brian says NO, I just remind myself that that allows me to have more time to spend with my current pets, and also that leaves more funds available for medical issues, or for building fancy new cages etc., and that usually makes me feel better. I’m still lobbying for a dog, but then Juli got stasis this week and reminded me how 8 bunnies is a lot for my current medical fund

Thanks all-I’m much better now-cough is almost gone and back at work (which is not a fun thing…
) The little black kittie is doing wonderful in her new home. The lady has two dogs (kitty is used to dogs remember) and her beagle has decided the kitten is her baby. She follows her around, and won’t let the other dog near her. Kisses her and bays at night for her.
The 15 year old daughter ‘claimed’ kitty and named her Echo. She lives in her bedroom, and her dad (my friend’s hubby) installed a cat door in the bedroom door so the kitty can go in and out (15 year olds keep their doors shut) It all sounds great-just wish I could have kept her! But…I am on a waitlist for a parrot this spring…so maybe a good thing
