Oct 20th NOTE ABOUT FORUM ISSUES:  Sorry for the continued delay -- The forum software we use has been transferred from one company to another, and they are changing it which is causing us further delays in our ability to update.  Because of this we are dealing with some forum glitches that may prevent you from uploading photos to your albums, creating a signature, and other little annoying things that have been going on for some time. We are currently working on expediting this as best we can.  I am sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

We have just found too many glitches to start it up.  Some people have been fiddling with it, but it's not official yet.

We just recently got word that there is a new update of fixes from our forum provider, but after that last two updates which were still full of glitches we are waiting to see what the real story is after other companies upload the update software.   We don't  want to spend a ton of time installing and then modifiying to our particular forum needs only  to bang our head against the wall with more glitch problems.   This time it had better work right.  And so we are letting other companies dive in first.

What would this even be used for if it was available?

I am guessing it would give the members the option of creating their own sub-categories beyong what the forum offers; you could have a group about just 'rexes', or 'rabbits in texas' or about  the movie Harvey j/k

It would just allow you to gab amongst yourselves via your group notes in your profile. At this point, we don't have the human power to monitor mini-forums that some group features offer. Originally we never even intended for groups or friends, so those may not stay. We were just trying to update the profile software and all of this "extra" stuff was added to the system that we are not prepared for, but right now we can't take them down as they are too webbed into the profile, and the update didn't provide admin enough control either (a big glitch). So this next update should also allow more admin control of these features so we can finally either use 'em or drop 'em.

For myself, (and I know I'm only one of thousands of members) the only group I really wanted was one for habitats. But I'm much happpier to see that this has been added to the toy section now!

Groups (friend) are now deleted. Too much techwork for just a couple of geeks to handle
