I guess I should formally introduce myself and my two cute buns, as was suggested in the post above. Here goes:

My name is Lara. I am a 3rd year nursing student from the East coast of Canada. I first fell in love with bunnies when I was living in China six years ago. I had just moved to the country and went out to buy myself a kitten. Well, I made it to the animal market, but didn't get to the kitten section. On the way, I fell in love with a teeny-tiny little furrball in a little pink cage. I bought her for 10 yuan (at the time, it was about $1.50 Canadian), took her home and called her Xiao Pang. Thus began my love affair with bunnies.

My two current trouble-makers are Calypso and Echo. I'm not sure about the breeds for either of them; all I know is that they're cute. lol. Calypso is just over a year and a half old and has been with me since he was just a wee bun. He was neutered last summer, and, shortly after that, was promoted to full-time house bun. Calypso is a timid guy, but he loves his mom. Whenever I come into a room, he comes to say hi and get a head scratch. He does this adorable thing that I call the "settle in". I'm sure you've seen it... a bun is standing up when you start to pet them. As soon as they realize how nice that head rub feels, they flop down or just assume the meatloaf position. The translation?  "Good human. I am pleased. You may continue." lol. Calypso is a bit overweight, and has been dieting for several months now, with little to no result. Hopefully Echo will inspire him to run around a bit more than he currently does.

Speaking of Echo: She is approximately 12-13 weeks old. Calypso picked her out himself after dating a few different buns. Echo is a bit of a paradox. She is absolutely fearless when it comes to exploring, but is just now starting to warm up to me. I can pet her for short periods of time, but if anybody else enters the room, she bolts. Said bolting may or may not be accompanied by a LOUD thump. lol. She is extremely inquisitive and wants to jump up on EVERYTHING! She has tried recently to establish herself as top bun, which surprises me not a bit. I actually expected it sooner. Calypso is fine with it, but he does get a bit freaked if she tries to hump him for a prolonged duration. In addition to humping, Echo will literally take food right out of Calypso's mouth and run off with it!! (Calypso always gets the treats first because he approaches me, whereas Echo hasn't figured out that I'm the treat-giver yet.) By the way, Echo has the hugest back feet EVER; they're so cute, especially when she sticks them out front to clean them!

Overall, I have two precious, unique bunnies who are a joy to watch and love. Calypso is my sugar-bun and Echo is turning out to be quite the fireball. And... those are my buns.

Sorry for the long post! By the way, I've really been enjoying the forums

Well, officially Welcome! I had seen those two cuties over in Bonding Forum. I like having a guess at breeds so if you'd humour me......I think that Echo is possibly a Palomino (lynx) being the colour and size she is already. But she could also be just an orange or fawn colour of many other breeds too. Calypso has a loppish look about him to me. Obviously not his ears but body seems like a lops. I'm probably waaay off - lol. His coat has a nice sheen. What's his under fur colour like?

One more qu. Is Xiao Pang pronounced like "shaw pang" almost like Chopin? Or "Shaun pang"? Lancy taught me how to pronounce Xiao AI's name so I'm applying the sounds here to Xiao Pangs name.

Xiao is pronounxed shee-ow, but when you say it fast, it sounds more like shao (rhymes with ow, as in "ow, I hurt my arm"). Pang, to English speakers, sounds like it's half way between pung (rhymes with rung) and pong, as in ping pong. Hope that's clear.

Welcome! Your buns are so cute! Calypso is a chunky monkey, isn't he? If you haven't already, feel free to start a thread in the Diet section, we might be able to give you some helpful hints to get him to firm up a little.
Meadow..... Photobucket ...... Max, my angel bunny
