        Hi!

Some of you may remember I used to be on BB a lot…then I got all INVOLVED in other things.  Well, one of those things has been volunteering at the Rabbit Rescue where I adopted Lizzy from over a year ago (and more recently, Freddy and Georgie on Friday!).  I spend every Friday cleaning hutches, and grooming bunnies who don’t want to be touched, much less groomed, and smooching on the ones who still like humans.  The rescue is at a humane society that…well, is less than humane.  They could kick the bunnies out anytime.  Apparently dogs and cats are more important.

Anyway, the Rescue recently held a yard sale to try to offset the $5000 vet bill.  It did well, but obviously a yard sale isn’t going to make THAT much money…

My meager contribution has been to try to get Petfinder updated, with better pictures and more accurate descriptions.  But there are 41 rabbits, and more are constantly brought in, and I deal with the newest ones first, so I haven’t even come close to catching up.  But they’re beautiful bunnies.  Here are some piccies of some of them.  And if you want to help with the vet bill, please go to http://www.mybunny.org.

Here are the photos I’ve taken so far!  And I’ll keep plugging away, so more to come soon!

Bobby, the sweetest blue-eyed drag-queen bunny!  He follows me from inside the pen, begging for pets!

Bowie is a spunky flirty girl!

Cody is a cautious, little-brother type boy.  All his brothers live in the shelter, too, and he was probably the runt!

Delilha (top) and Samson (bottom) are sister and brother, only babies, and crawl all over every human who come near them, begging for attention!

Harpo (the darker one) and Zeppo (lighter one) are brothers who just came in last week…and just reached puberty!  Holy cow!  All the other boy-buns at Zooh want to kick cocky Zeppo’s BUTT!  (Harpo just wants a pet…and for his brother to stop humping him!)

Rowan (with the white snip on her nose) is mother to 9 bunnies at Zooh (not including the 3-5 that have been adopted or moved into foster).  She came into the shelter in March 2008 with a litter, and 3 days later, gave birth to a 2nd litter.  Poor girl!  She is REGAL…the grand-dame of Zooh.  She’s bonded with her son Radcliffe, with the rakishly jaunty ears!  If a real bunny-person gave them a couple months, they’d be a great addition…but they’re hard to introduce to strangers, because they’ve had such a hard life.  They don’t bite, but they sure do THUMP!

Ruby is a delicate little girl who just came in a couple of weeks ago.  She scarfs her greens, but won’t touch her pellets…I wonder if she came from a real bunny-home?  If she did, how’d she end up in the shelter?  Poor girl…

        Smudge, a goofy airplane-eared girl…FLOPPED!

Warren is the friendliest of Rowan’s boys…

That’s all I’ve got (of the unadopted buns…a couple have been taken home by volunteers, because they are FABULOUS and it was CRIMINAL that they had been in the shelter for so long!) so far.  I’ll get more photos this Friday…there are already at least 2 more new ones since LAST FRIDAY that I haven’t photographed, on top of needing to update the buns that have been there a while…

We still need help with the vet bill, if you can spare some change…
