My rabbit Ebony has blood around her fur near her anus, I have also noticed bloodied poop on the floor, poop is normal.
Ebony seems to be fine, running around and being silly as usual.
Looking for a vet open on Sunday.
Hi Lisa. I have had an Australian Vets list saved for some time. This vet is mentioned a few times for WA. www.rabbitshopwa.com/contact.html Open Sundays 8am-1pm
Please keep us updated.
ETA: I've had quick look for possible reasons. Only come across ruptured polyp in rectum so far...
All my 7 rabbits were de sexedd at the rabbitshop and I am not far from them. I tried ringing with no reply, I went up there and they are closed. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I have checked for any injuries and all is ok, she seems very happy and running around and eating normally.
I will just have to keep an eye on her, She is in the family room in a small hutch so if anything goes wrong I will just have to take her to a normal vet, but don't think they will be able to know what to do. These things always happens on a Sunday when nothing is open.
Sarita I have not seen her pooping or urinating but will keep a close eye on that, she seems her normal happy self.
Thanks Jerseygirl, I also could only find the same thing, I have never squeezed the rabbits anal glands, wondering if it might be something to do with that.
Ebony seems to be ok, her poop is normal again with no blood. I will get her to the vet tomorrow for a check up.
That'[s kinda annoying that they advertise to be open then they aren't. Grrr. I did notice that vet is also reptile specialist and had another listing and contact details but I didn't post those. You obviously knew of them anyway . Hope you get some answers soon.
