Finally, after 5 weeks, Daisy, my extremely shy dutch hopped to the front of the condo when I walked in the room this morning. Towards me! I set their condo up along side my computer desk and had noticed that while I worked all weekend, she would creep up to the lounge floor, which is on eyelevel with me sitting at the desk. Pringles would be sprawled out there and she'd slip in behind him and eyeball me from under Pringle's helicopter ears.

I take this as a great compliment because I had pretty much accepted the fact she would be a shadow, happy in her condo, but fleeing to the box everytime a human walked in the room. Maybe one day I can touch her for petting instead of just 'have to' stuff.

I know how exciting it is when the anti-social bunny makes steps toward human contact.  Congrats on your patience & persistence!

Congratulations!  my bunny comes to me but as soon as I try to grab/hold him he runs away, if I want to hold him I actually have to go to the cage when he is inside, he doesn't like to held too long though.

HOORAY!!!  That's wonderful! Sometimes it takes a while for a bunny to realize that not all of us humans aren't so bad after all.  That's a huge step you should feel proud!

Oh my! Have you tried using a strainer/colander (the wire mesh ones with a handle) to put in the front of the attacker?  This is a technique I've used at the shelter many times, the handle on it keeps your hands safe while at the same time preventing the attacker from hurting the attackee. Sometimes I used gloves with it as well.

I decided to just move her into a different room on the second floor of the house. When I have Frankie out, I put a child gate up so if there is an escape, there will be time to get in between! I'd rather get hurt than have my friend's bun come back as if it got in a fight with my lawnmower!

She's on cage arrest until her momma gets back into town. She was getting way too territorial.

I think that is a very good idea.  Poor Frankie, how is he doing?

He's totally unphased. He looked for Abigail for a few minutes and then just went back to being king of the castle. He's being a very good bunny now. No more territorial poos or anything that the other bun made him do!

Oohh that is great Daisy is coming around ... so happy for you Chooky!  Its the first steps to much greater things for you.  Horray for Daisy!
