I'm not suppose to do this, but I just had to let you know about a group of 6 adorable baby gray rex bunnies currently at Save A Bunny. They're not up on the website yet as they aren't old enough for their surgeries and adoption but they're there for anyone who wants to go see them. I saw one sticking his nose through the wires at me so I opened up the door to give him some head pets. Before I knew it, the rest of them were crowding him so they all could get head pets too. They are solid gray and very friendly. They're not too thrilled about being picked up but they do love the laps and the pets.
Also, SaveABunny has been putting up some signs on some of the cages to denote their 'opinionated' rabbits that have a bit more spirit than others. I just want to say that once you get them in your lap and pet them, they're about as opinionated as a sock. It's kinda sad when people stick their fingers through the wire and receive a nip that they think that the rabbits is bad tempered. They just don't like strangers fingerin' their space is all.

Woot post 2000!
I have a volunteer there taking a photo with their cell phone now - we'll see if there's reception enough to send it.
Edit: Here they are. This photo makes them look big because she put the phone right into the cage with them.

Oh no! They are perfect! The one in the bottom makes them look smaller. |

Sorry about it guys, but when I saw them gathering around in order to just get head pets - I had to post about them. It is somewhat rare to get a rabbit in a shelter whose very friendly with people - let alone 6 siblings! |

So adorable. So glad you shared! How come you are not supposed to do this? And babies at RESCUES are okay to post here! (or is it just because they are not ready at SaveABunny to be taking in adoption applications) If so...shhhhhhh.....we won't tell. Just be sure to post here if you can when they ARE ready.
I hear ya about the opnionated bunnies. Vivian is as opinionated "as a sock" when she's in cuddle mode, and these days she is up for cuddling most of the time. She is very very sweet and will come running to greet me when I come into the room. Will she move stuff that in her way? Yes. Will she nudge my hand off to the side with her nose if she is too busy for pets? Absolutely, but most of the time now she just seeks out affection. She is one of the most interactive funny expressive bunnies! So I say "Yeah! for opinionated and spirited bunnies!" |

They are gorgeous. I love those opinionated bunnies too even if they have a different opinion than me. |

I know, I want to come get one right away. Curse you, oxytocin! (the chemical in our brains that makes adorable little baby bunnies just THAT much cuter and irresistible!) I wish Mark could practice with one of them, taking her to the ticket counter at the airlines and showing her how to use the credit card. All aboard for Alaska! And yes, forgive me for fawning, please. I don't want anyone to feel I'm completely forgetting the 'before you bring home babies' thread. But that beautiful grey color and the obvious interest displayed in their faces, plus Mark's endorsement that they are interested in people is such a draw. Because if my attempt at bonding my three doesn't go well, I may someday be looking for a friend for Fiver anyway. I hope I will be fortunate enough to find just one at my local shelter or adoption day that needs a home and I will be able to provide it. (((((((vibes for excellent forever homes for these cuties))))))))))))))) |

Better be careful, I'm going to check with Marcy about out of state adoptions (I know she's a little wary about them) but if OK, I'd be willing to fly with the buns if someone wanted to pay for the round trip ticket.
BTW, that stands for any buns in the bay area. I'd be more than happy to sit on a plane for 12 hours round trip on my weekend off if it meant one darling went to a loving forever home. |

What's the story on those rex kits? Were they surrendered or found? |
