We’ve been thinking about getting another furry bugg3r to take over our lives and to keep the Bum company.  I wondered if any of you had any advice/experiences with introducing a year and a bit old male rab to another?  I wouldnt want him to get upset and feel threatened etc and would hate for him to feel so put out that he starts to mark everything again.  We saw some weeeeeeny baby lionheads, and some dwarf rabbits sunday but the staff weren’t particularly helpful….although more friendly than the other place i’ve mentioned!!  Obviously I wouldnt just shove them together and leave them on their own, and would keep the new baby in a cage in another room until bigger, but ANY ADVICE MOST WELCOME!!!!

        Unfortunately u can’t get pink buns…..

Is your male bunny neutered?  If not, bonding is more difficult.

In your case you would most likely want to try a female bunny to bond with your male.  Babies are generally easier to bond than adults because they are less threatening to the other bunny.

BinkBunny has some good information on bonding.  That is probably a good place to start.

Why not get a female rabbit? if you feel he is territorial it might be easier on him.

I’ve heard that bonding young bunnies to older bunnies is one of the easier bonds, however, both rabbits should be spayed and neutered before you start.  Almost everything i’ve heard/read says that if you have two UNneutered males, they will always fight, and there is no way to avoid that.  Once both of the bunnies are spayed/neutered, just read up on the bonding process!  Letting your bun choose a female is a good way to start, some buns just DO NOT get along at all
