Hi all, I haven't been around for the past couple weeks due to the very tragic, completely unexpected death of my grandfather & my whole life has been flipped upside down... but I thought I'd check in this morning to let you all know that Ash heeled up nicely and him & Hunny have been living happily together for the past week and a half or so... only prob is Ash still can't be trusted unsupervised, he's a rug puller and the one day I left them both out hoping he would behave since Hunny does I came home to find a huge pile of rug in his preferred corner under the diningroom table so now during the day while we are gone & at night I have to keep him locked up and I feel bad cause Hunny gets to stay out and they have to snuggle thru bars... and with all this craziness happening and having the responsiblity of being executrix of my grandfather's estate I will be spending most of my free time (weekends & nights) at his house (an 8 room house full of 40+ years of stuff) getting things squared away so I wish that I was able to keep them both out so they can entertain one another & so Ash gets the run time that he needs... Anyone have any suggestions as to what I could do?  I have already blocked off the few spots where he was doing his best "work" but he manages to find other things to get into & he's also adopted Hunny's one bad habit of getting up on the table which is fine as long as no one leaves anything "chewable" on it.  Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated!

As far as Ash, he's still young so he should (hopefully) outgrow this behavior after awhile. I think he will just need to be supervised until then or confined within a larger, safe space. I personally don't think rabbits under a year old should be left to free roam for any length of time unsupervised. They are just too unpredictable.

I'm also sorry for your loss and hope things get better for you. I have to agree with Beka, your bun may just be too young to be free-roam yet. I wouldn't dare leave any of my little house destroyers anywhere for even 1 second alone anymore... :X

I'm sorry for your loss. Maybe xpen with cardboard or something underneath? Then they can be together and get exercise?

My sympathies to your family. I hope your bunnies help ease your pain.

Bunnies definitely get less destructive with age. My two are 5 and rarely destroy anything lately. Baby bunnies can be terrors, I've been there so I know what that's all about.

I wouldn't worry too much about having one out and not the other-if they can snuggle through the bars that's just fine. Maybe in time you can figure out a good way to bunny proof or do some behaviour modification. You don't want your whole carpet ruined in the meantime. We probably are all carpet (and flooring, and cord, and remote, and book spine etc) repair experts so if you have to repair your carpet we can likely help with tips
