I haven’t posted in awhile, I am sooo busy with classes, but here is a little update on my bun.  For the last 7 months or so since my bun was diagnosed with malocclusion I had been getting his teeth clipped twice a month (expensive yikes) but then he broke off his bottom teeth and my vet started pushing me towards getting them removed completely but I didn’t want to do it yet because I was worried about having them removed. Then he broke them off AGAIN somehow, so I decided to schedule him for incisor removal.

He had all 6 teeth removed yesterday around noon ( 4 top and 2 bottom ) and I brought him home at 4:30. He was his usual bratty self towards other people when I picked him up. He went after the male ( I don’t think he likes men very much, he doesn’t care when the female techs pick him up and hold him ) vet tech that was trying to put him in the carrier and the head vet was like “Oh, he is known for that” haha. He is on antibiotics & pain meds for a few days. I thought I was going to have to force feed him but he started eating 20 minutes after I brought him home. He ate a big plate of vegetables that I cut up so it is easier for him to pick up, some pellets, and even started eating his hay a few hours later after he figured out how to pick it up with his lips. I felt so bad for him though last night! He looked so sad and just wanted to sit in my lap and get head rubs.

Today he is a lot more active and is harassing me for more food and attention constantly. I think he might get to be a free roam bunny soon since he isn’t destructive anymore now that he is about 1 yr and 4 months. I might have to cage him at night because he has something against me sleeping, he always nudges my cheek or tickles my face with his whiskers until I wake up because he wants my attention.

Hopefully they don’t grow back though! The vet said something about having to damage the growth plate to stop the teeth from growing back and the worst case, which she said she hasn’t ever had happen, is they grow back impacted which means I will have to take him for another surgery at a specialist an hour away. It will be about 2 months before we know they aren’t growing back for sure.

Anyways that is it about my bunny boy

Glad he is doing well! I don’t think many people understand how detrimental dental problems in rabbits can be.

Awh poor goblin! It’s nice to hear from you. I’m glad he is doing okay from the procedure and hopefully he won’t have any more teeth issues. We’d love to see pics of the king when he’s feeling better *picks up poking stick*

Poor guy. Seems like he’s adjusting well. At least you guys won’t have to make such frequent vet trips now.

These buns do seem to adjust super well. Really good to hear Goblin is. They mostly eat with the molars anyway.

I happen to think they have an extra adorable look too.

Thanks guys! He is doing good still, I’ve been leaving his pen open all day/night but he likes his pen too much I guess because he stays in it for 90% of the day. I took a picture of him today, he is looking a little pathetic still because he has residue on his fur from his surgery and he is giving me a hard time about washing his face. But he is active and running around and playing with me, and by playing I think he thinks its fun to run circles around me when I’m on the floor and ninja tap me in the back with his front paws then run away.

I love king goblin. He does look a little pitiful still. He might need more treats and attention I remember how much he loves willow!!

PS. That fish on the list of things I want to get for Bunjamin sometime. Does goblin play/eat it at all?

Aww, poor boy…recover vibes for Goblin! My Milo had his incisors removed as well, and he still was quite the happy bunny . I think the only difference was that I had to cut up his veggies…other than that he was perfectly fine!

Goblin will run through the fish and he sits on top of it every morning waiting for me to get up and feed him, he sleeps on it sometimes. He doesn’t dig at it or chew it though ( not that he can if he wanted now ).
