LOL…that is funny weird. I think they are sphynx kittens. Kind of look like Yoda.

LOL. They are so ugly. My friend has two of those. They are amazing pets, but man they’re ugly.

That may be the ugliest animal I’ve ever seen.

You know, sometimes it irks me how some species are bred to look certain ways, especially if those ways are obviously contrary to what would be optimum for survival in nature. That being said, this poor wee thing would still look so comically pitiful even if It had fur…look at that sad mouf and tongue! I just want to snuggle it!

…I know they are fresh baby kittens who probably just opened their eyes, but ewwww. Cats are so gross.

Joyfull, most baby kittens have fur, it’s just a specific breed without fur lol

They are cute, in an ugly sort of way.

No I know that. LOL. I mean the fact that they are still all shriveled and wrinkly. Most of the sphinx cats I know are not that wrinkly. There is one that lives at my exotic vets office named Chiffon. She has very light fuzz on her body and it really does feel like chiffon.

I have five cats, my husband is a cat whisperer and has rescued several.

Yea, I completely agree…but some of them are too cute, haha.  I mean, I’m pretty sure lop ears aren’t ideal for survival, but people have specifically bred for that mutation and it’s so darn adorable…

Lol peppy, yeah I knew someone would tag me on that. I do love lop bunnies, but I’ve also watched poor Mimzy go through so many medical problems, most of which are attributed to his breed. It’s something that steams my broccoli for his sake as well. But no, I wouldn’t change him. He’s my sweet ear flappy boy.
I used to love Sharpei puppies, which can be so wrinkled they can’t cool down properly. Bulldogs are dying out, literally, due to their extensive inbred faults. It just seems to improve some animals and be to the detriment of others, sadly.

Give me the ‘mutt’ or the ‘runt’ of just about any species, they can sometimes have the best traits of all!

btw Cuz, I’m still unable to see the cheezburger pic you posted the other day. : (  Could you pls post a link in that thread?

@MM, that crossed my mind when I first saw the pic too but I don’t enough about the breed really.  I think a member here has a sphynx cat but I haven’t seen her post in a while.

There are people that generally love, understand and care well for specialty breeds in all animals but I do wonder that not all bred go to ideal homes.  If they go anywhere at all.

I suppose (or hope) it’s heavily regulated so that not just anyone can getting into breeding to make a quick buck when some breed of animal is having some popularity. That it’s only those that care very much that the animals they raise go into good homes. In reality though…. who knows… We see too often that it doesn’t go that way. : (
