  Not sure if this has been posted before, because I’ve been out of the loop for awhile, but I just wanted to send a good thought for any members of the forum who live in Texas near those terrible fires. I’ve been in your shoes when you’re not sure if your house is going to survive, and yet you’re just glad that you and your family and pets do. Still it’s a terrible thing to go through.

  Thanks for thinking of us down here, MimzMum! My family lives about 20 minutes from one of the neighborhoods that lost several homes in the fires…thankfully the winds kept the fire a little farther from us, but it’s absolutely terrible for those who were affected by the blaze. The local rabbit rescue sent emails out asking for donations for members whose homes were affected. The email specifically mentioned one person who only managed to escape the house with their cat, dog, and only one out of five rabbits…there was no word on whether or not the house burned, but I sincerely hope that everybun came out ok.

  I remember as a child, we lived by the forest, and there was a big fire one summer. It was so hard watching and waiting. We were told to get ready to evacuate. Scary feeling, what do you take, what do you leave? It was put under control so we didn’t have to leave but it came very close.
  
  My thoughts and prayers to all those affected.

  I am more north of the fires, or east, depending on which fire you are talking about. It is so sad our state is burning up. And there is zero rain in the forecast for the next 14 days. Please pray for rain!!
