Just wanted to show you what I put together for Effie, it’s 1×2, will get a new picture once it’s all decked out for her

ETA: Ok, this may not be Effie’s home for a few more weeks, she can get out through the holes in the cage!

Mmm just trying to think of someway to keep her in it, maybe I’ll just have to wait until she grows

I have a cage that I built out of NIC cubes. We keep the cage doors closed with binder clips. =] What holes is she able to get out of? Out of the holes that make up the grid?

My only concern is is your bunny able to stand on its hind legs without its head touching the top of the NIC grids?

Yes, out of the grid holes, she’s only 7 weeks old so has plenty of room in there for a while lol. She’s back into her old cage until she’s grown a little more for now. I have some spare NIC grids so as she grows I can add another layer up and adjust the shelves

Wow! Those must be huge grid holes! Glad that the cage can be adjusted. =]

I saw on a YouTube video of a woman placing plastic chicken wire over the cage because her bun did the same thing. And the woman had strung zipties through the cage and the mesh. It sort of looked like this:http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc…reId=10051

I’m not sure if this is the safest alternative but just something to think about to maybe give you ideas.

I found sheets of thick acrylic (clear) at my local hardware store that they could cut to size, so it’s possible you could get some and put it flat and flush against the sides of the cage. (Clamp them in place?) The NIC cubes sold at Bed Bath & Beyond are the metal ones with the smallest holes available, but that still may be too big.

I love your avatar! She’s just too cute.

Thank you, will have a good think and get the OH to plan something. We watched her squeeze through, some of the holes are larger, along one edge of each of the grids the holes are slightly larger, so she was going around and around until she found one she could squeeze through easily lol. I don’t think it will be too long until she won’t fit, but then I’ll be watching her to check she doesn’t get stuck halfway!
