I normally leave my dogs with my parents when i go on vacation and had planned to leave Scat with them as well.  They had a rabbit for about 2 years and their dogs got along fine with him so i didnt see any problems. Unfortunately in the last two weeks the have caught their dachunds  eating the remains of 2 wild rabbits, since it is unlikely two rabbits just happened to drop dead in their yard, we believe JJ and Sugar killed them.  Under these circumstances I dont feel safe leaving Scat with them even if he is confined to his cage at all times.  Especially since he is smaller than they are, my parents rabbit Levi was bigger than the dogs so its possible thats why they didnt bother him.  My only other family option would be my sister but she has a 2yr old and a 5yr old and I am not sure I feel safe leaving him with her, not to mention it will make my nieces want a rabbit and this is a BAD idea, especially for them. So i am looking into petsitters but so far not much luck.

His vet will board him for $14/day in his own cage, with his own food. My biggest problem with this is there are few veggies i can send with him that will keep for 2 weeks, so he would probably have to do without veggies and i really dont want to do that.

Any way on to my question,

I live about 2.5 hours from Dallas and will most likely be flying out of DFW, The North Texas Rabbit Sanctuary boards rabbits $10/day which includes food, hay, and veggies.  http://www.ntrs.org/-services.html

Have any of our Dallas members ever boarded their rabbits with the North Texas Rabbit Sanctuary? Were you pleased? Any thoughts about them?  I like that they are a rabbit rescue so they specialize with rabbits and the money will be supporting a good cause.  I have emailed them with some questions and am waiting to hear back but i just wanted to get personal feedback if possible since i know some of our members are in dallas.

Thanks for you help.

I was just wondering if you boarded your rabbit at the North Texas Rabbit Sanctuary and how it went?
