I want to move my bunnies back into the living room because it is cooler in there compared to the rest of the house. I would have to close thier pens to do this. Do you think 3’7″x3’7′ is too small for on bunny? I would let them out to play in the living room once we bunny proof it. It wouldn’t be for 3 hours a day though like I would like. This would also not be a permanent place for them. I am planning to start bonding them this fall. I know that can take a while but I can move them to larger spaces too once it cools off. We only have a window air conditioning unit I just want them to be comfortable. They would get more attention in the living room but thier living space would be smaller. What do you think?

As Mocha said, should be fine if still get exercise time. Plus, the extra attention would stimulate them as well. With the added bonus of them bonding to you more

How much time? They are bonded yet as Baxter was just neutered and Bella needs neutered (yes, I said neutered) They would have to do it one at a time. I have always heard that they need out 3 hours minimum for excersize. I would feel so bad if I couldn’t give them that everday. That is 6 hours total everyday that there would be a destructive bunny in my living room. What if instead of hours straight, I let them take turns for like 30 minutes or so here and there? Or would they smell eachother and start marking everywhere?

as long as it is 3 hours a day i don’t think it matters ow you split the time up.

Hard to tell if they would mark or not, depends on them really. I do the alternate thing with my 2, and they do fine. If I give them 3 hours straight, its pretty much guaranteed that Monkey will just go to Moosie’s pen and annoy him lol. So I break the time up a bit. And don’t feel bad if they don’t get a ton every day. Sometimes we just can’t fit that time in. Just give them extra time when you can

Baxter has always gotten a lot of attention from me so we are pretty close. He even decided that I would be the victim of his first and only spray YUK! lol Anyway, Bella not so much. he isn’t affraid of me and will come right up to me to be loved but the littlest noise will send him frantically running away. I think he would be really easy to bond to me though

                      * I just had to go back and correct a bunch of “she’s and her’s” to He’s and him’s” UGH I am so not used to Bella being a boy lol

Thanks Monkey that makes me feel a lot better. They are not in tiny cages so I don’t feel too bad about where they live. Baxter loves his new pen set up…mainly the crackle tunnel! That thing is wonderful!

Buns tend to exercise in spurts too. As you know, they’re not active for 3 hours straight. So if there were some way for you to give each of them some morning and evening exercise, that would be the best in this situation. And then later on once they’re bonded, it won’t be an issue.

Very true Beka. They are the active then and lazy the rest of the day lol. Thanks that’s a good idea. I will go with that one.
