        Well…

A few days ago I found litterally about 2000 poops under my bed. They were all Bun’s and I was very upset. I also found out both of them have been going into that lining of the boxspring and ruining that. Stupid me for thinking they were being good. I don’t know why Bun was pooping under there but it’s really gross and unhealthy that I was sleeping above them for so long. She was using her literbox so well…no idea what was going on in her head. Anyways….last night Indy busted out of his cage 3 times and crash landed onto my bed. I think he’s trying to tell me I need o give him more space to run around in, but I need to block them from going under my bed. Does anyone have any ideas to something other than grids that might look semi normal to block  them off?

If under the bed was new to her, I guess she marked her territory! Now with Indy being about she may be pooping up a storm.
How much space is the base of the bed to the floor? You could always cover grids or whatever you use with a tailored looking valance.

Right now I’ve got that long mirror laying sideways, my moms scrapbooking container and grids covered in a sheet. It looks a bit strange but will do until I can figure something out, but I know lots of people here could have good ideas too. Yea she sure did mark that territory. That brat. Under the bed is no OFF LIMITS!!!

Oh dear. 0_o Knowing how well my bunnies send flyballs through the bars of their pens, I don’t even want to think about the next time I pull my bed away from the wall and vacuum under it…there’s BOUND to be some clickety-click going up the nozzle…for sure!
~_~ I just hope they don’t do this while I’m unconscious…because I tend to sleep with my mouth open! 0_o

The only thing I could suggest is if you have something solid to put your box spring and mattress on instead of the iron frame. Maybe just remove the frame and put them flat on the floor? They’d have to dig hard to get under it then. It makes it lower to the ground as far as you getting in and out of it, but it’s got to be better than bb’s underneath.

lol…Indy is sure living up to his name! Taking a flying leap onto your bed like that! Get that bun a parachute!

Just as a read your post…he is crawling under the grids going under my bed. Obviously he left his hat on the other side….*rolls eyes* I put 2 really heavy books up to them and now I’m probably risking him ruining them…one is a 50$ book on the Ocean by jacque cousteau. Maybe I’ll buy some wood and set it up so its heavy enough for them not to be able to mess with. some 2”x8” or something

I’d suggest making a wood frame to go around the bed if grids don’t cut it. Just make a wood box pretty much, just enough to go around the edges they can get to. Much prettier than grids and whatever else is available

He’s back pouting in his cage. I put fleece over the grids and its seemed to foil his plans for now

That didn’t last long, he got back under the bed again, I didn’t find any poop from him under there (it’s 2x the size as Bun’s) so I guess he isn’t a huge problem. As soon as I took the grids down he started doing Binkies lol. What a character.

I had the same problem with Marlee..I just put cinder blocks under the bed and also those red bricks under my dressers. I had to get those bed risers so the blocks would fit and now I like literally have to jump in my bed, but it works! ha. Good luck!

My husband and I bunny proofed our couches cuz we fear our lionhead getting under there and ripping/tearing up the material underneath, and the couches are barely a year old. So we used some 2×4″ thick wooden beams, had them cut at a hardware store to measure the correct lengths of the couch, and my husband assembled it to make a sort of wooden frame to fit just underneath the couch. The problem we have, that you are already experiencing, is once your bunny has gone underneath, s/he will forever try to get back underneath! Because there is still space *behind* the couch, and we use blankets or cheap towels we don’t care about as wedges, which work, but he tries his darndest to get under there! After reading some of the posts on here now, I wonder if it would be such a bad idea to let him roam underneath one of the couches though. He’s pretty well litter trained… Sorry if this didn’t really help much!

haha! You’re a true rabbit-slave! Just let them have their way – it’s the only way to true peace. Welcome here

LOL, haven’t heard that term before, but I’d have to say I definitely fall into that category. They just get so darned determined to do what they want sometimes! Thank you for the welcome!

me and my mom made a wood square that fits around the bottom of my bed. i basically just nailed four pieces of wood together around the bottom of my bed to create a square and that keeps them out.
