Help! Mr. Kenny Bunny has been chewing a lot of things lately. He has chewed the watermelons on the floor(my dad does not like this, and there isn’t anywhere else we could really put the watermelons. He has been chewing bags and books. My dad said if he keeps on chewing, Mr. Kenny bunny will have to stay outside. Please help! Is there a way to stop him?

A great way to keep them from chewing things is to give them something they’re actually allowed to chew on, like a cardboard box or something made of willow

Sounds like your bun is a chewer. Cardboard is now your best friend. My Cinnabun is also a chewer. As such, she always has: toilet paper rolls, boxes of several sizes and shapes, random bits of cardboard I’ve cut up and strung together into a chew toy, paper towel rolls, ect. Cardboard is really great because it’s safe

Definitely lots of carpet! Or wooden objects (animal-safe, of course). My buns love chewing on wood and cardboard. My buns had a horrible habit of tearing at the carpet and since we have given them a towel to dig the life out of they’ve pretty much stopped the carpet tearing all together. It’s all about giving them somewhere else to direct that energy too! As soon as you find a thing that he prefers – everytime he bites where he shouldn’t you give him what he IS allowed to bite — and usually they catch on pretty quickly what is a no-no and what is okay. Rabbits are fairly quick little learners!

Well, it`s really not fair to get upset with him for chewing watermelons since he most likely recognizes it as food. House rabbits don`t understand about things they can and can`t chew. That`s why rabbit-proofing is so important. Can you rabbit-proof a specific room and keep him in there?
