When Bambam is in his cage he knows where his litter box is and does not mess, however, when I give him some freedom he wees and poops on my bed! It has happened at least 4 times today and it is driving me mad! I try and catch him just in time and shoo him off my bed but sometimes I only catch him mid poop/wee!

I would love to get a friend for Bambam but I cannot do this until he is fully litter trained! Also, I would love to give him more freedom and let him run around my room all day but again, this cannot be done until he is litter trained. 

I love cuddles with him on my bed and therefore I would rather not train him to not go on my bed. 

He is 6 months old and is neutered.

I noticed that when I had Rupert in his smaller cage he would be pretty good about going only in his box, but when I first bought an x-pen and let him run around a bit he would poop almost everywhere but only on one side of the pen. So, I put a few boxes there and cleaned up after him often so he learned to use the boxes. Maybe if you give BamBam just a little more room bit by bit he'll learn that he can only poop/pee in the box?

His cage is roughly a meter x half a meter x 75 cm tall, it also has a second level which is where he sleeps.
