I got a new bunny today ^^. I have met her before, this was kinda unexpected. She was my mom’s cousins bunny. When I met her at her house she was really sweet running around letting me pick her up and not squirming at all. Overall very friendly. Well apparently she moved and was going to leave the bunny but we took her before she left so she could be ok! She is spayed so I plan on bonding her with charlie after a vet visit.  I don’t understand why she would just leave her there, she is so sweet.

Now to my main question: I took her home and she seemed very stressed. I left her alone all day, and stupid me ( I know better than this! ) I stuck my hand in her cage and she kinda lashed at me. I know she is completely stressed and you shouldn’t enter a bunny’s house. But my question was an Stress cause aggression? I just want to make sure. Its weird because she was really friendly at my mom’s cousins house.

          Yes, it certainly can.

Are you going to bond Charlie, Chubby and this rabbit?

I thought in another thread you said that it was possible you wouldn’t be able to keep Chubby, but then you were able to, so you were going to neuter him to bond to Charlie, and were asking for advice on low-cost netuers? I’m confused as to why you’d pick now to get a third rabbit when things are seemingly up in the air between the two you already have?

Yes, it definitely can. I’d leave her for a week or so and slowly let her come to meet you out of her space. Is she spayed? If not, that could be a HUGE part of her being territorial and lunging at you.

I had an update, we actually are finalizing a house purchase, so I can keep both! And also I had no intentions of getting another bunny but It just kinda happened, I wasn’t about to leave her there alone! Actually it wasn’t even my decision, more like my mom telling her friend “Sure, we can have another rabbit!” As of now I do not know who will be bonded with who first my my long term goal is to have all of them together. I don’t know about her history and going to the vet but yes, she is spayed. As of now she is in a different room because I don’t know what things she could be carrying so before we even start moving her cage into the same room she needs a vet visit and vac.s. Also she is not litter trained as she just lived in a super pet cage..

I hate to cause confusion but I’m trying to be the best bunny owner as possible. In no way was I actually looking or even thinking about other bunnies, like I said it just happened. I had only seen this bunny once, I didn’t even know that she was moving. Litterly her entire house was empty and there sat a little rabbit cage. The lady said to my mom’s face ” Hey, I can’t take this bunny, I’m just leaving it here, unless you want it. ” I was so stunned..

Anyways little update. I left her alone all day, since I don’t know what she eats I gave her a little bit of pellets, a little romaine and just a little parsley. Last night she was really shook up and wouldn’t move at all. Today she is walking around, eating pooping and exploring her new condo. I have not let her out yet, should I keep her in there for an entire week to? Also I noticed that she only had 1 front tooth, but she was eating and it did not seem to bother her, should I be concerned? I have never had an experience like this, usually I’m really prepared.

I see! Thank you for clearing that up. I was confused… lol!

Thank goodness you were able to take that poor bun. I can’t believe she was just going to leave her there. People can be so heartless and cruel.

It sounds like she’s going to need a vet exam ASAP. Have her checked out fully, as well as a good dental check. Did you get the info for the vet who spayed her?

Haha, I know I was a bit confusing for a little there, lol. I have not got information on who spayed her, but apparently she is. that is all I know about her other than she was adopted from a shelter here in ohio so that’s the only reason I believe it, but before meeting anybunny (lol) I am getting her checked up! Her vet appointment is set up for this Wendsday., she seems very healthy so I am not going to rush anything or stress her too much, she hated the car. Her teeth don’t really seem to bother her as she is eating good, and pooping good. And she is VERY clean! She uses the litter box better than my boys!! Haha.

Today when I walked into the room with the plate of veggies she started running back and forth going absolutely CRAZY for them! She deffinalty understands food lol!! She also was licking my hands through the cubes, good signs! I am still going to wait for tomorrow to let her out and explore. I can’t believe that lady would just leave this sweet little bunny! She is so nice and soft, Its heartless. I just got lucky I guess. And we are moving to our new house in less than a month! So after we are done setting in, I will move the buns. They all have to be in one big room in the basement, so they all get separate corners. Spoiled little furballs!
