I have changed some stuff around the house and I have baby gates up over my computer wires and the bird cage (no seeds for bunnies!), they weren’t that bothered by it before, but since we moved rooms for the stuff they are obsessively chewing/digging at the baby gates. They have two bedrooms, the hallway and the bathroom to run around in. They just can’t get to the dangerous parts. What are some tips to stop them? They have 500 toys (ok, not literally, but every toy at the pet store + some ordered online + phone books + dig boxes… you name it, they probably have it), lots of room to run, hay everywhere (3 hay boxes in various rooms), their own A/C vents to lay on. But all they want to do all day is dig/chew at the baby gate blocking my computer wires.

I think it’s because it’s in a new place and you’ve changed their environment – I imagine after awhile, they will realize it’s going to be there no matter what and quite chewing and digging at it…they will give up trying to mutilate it.

Bunnies ALWAYS want into the one spot they’re not allowed into it seems, LOL. Occasionally when I’m cooking I’ll put a baby gate to block Zeus off from the kitchen, just because I’m paranoid I’ll spill something hot on him or something. He gets very offended by this and grabs the baby gate mesh with his teeth and YANK YANK YANK YANKS as hard as he can. Sometimes he even succeeds in ripping it down, naughty bun! Should’ve named in Hercules, haha.

I don’t really have any suggestions, other than maybe putting some toys right at the gate to distract them.

What about trying a big piece of tile in front of the baby gate? I know that wouldn’t be as much fun to dig as carpet and it would be slippery.

It’s several feet of baby gate, but I guess I can rig something to block it off. My floor is slowly becoming nothing but bunny blocks though lol 10 cardboard boxes, 2 slabs of wood, 9 baby gates so far in one bedroom just to stop Stickers destroying stuff. She is so insane.
