Picked up the most adorable dwarf rabbit from a shelter about a month and a half ago, She’s a 2 year old female names sweetie.

I’d love for her to come out of her cage a little more often and try to get her some exercise because she’s becoming bored and getting into more and more trouble  Any tips?

If you don’t want her to be free roaming, I suggest an exercise pen, like the metal ones you buy for dogs and such. It gives the bunnies more room to play than a normal cage, my 2 love their pens

Welcoem to BB! She’s gorgeous, how lucky for her you came along

I’d like to be able to do something to encourage her to be a little more active, she tends to sit around and sleep the majority of the time and then once in a while she’ll run up and down the hallway like a nutcase! Seems like she’s got energy that just builds up & other then following me around the house she doesnt really do anything, I’ve been wanting to order a few things from the binky bunny store for her to see if it’ll encourage her to be active!
I’m a little afraid of what the shipping fees to canada will cost, any idea?

To canada, I’m not sure. You could always check by putting stuff in your shopping cart to see what shipping comes out to Thats what I did my first time lol.

Does your bunbun like doing anything in particular? chewing, digging, throwing stuff?

Anything she chews she eats…so i’m a little worried about giving her cardboard and wood
She’s got a few peices of wood that she’s thrown around a few times but it seems like it was done only to get it out of her way lol!
She tries to dig in one corner of her cage :S It’s so weird

Other than sitting ontop of her wooden castle in her cage she doesnt actually seem to like Doing anything, I guess she is still getting used to her home though.

Do you let her our for supervised play/exercise?  What does she do then?  Perhaps she’s an explorer-bunny who would enjoy a maze or haven?  Or, if she eats what she chews you could get a grass mat?

You could try a willow basket with a phone book in it.. my Moose loves digging at his phone book, and Monkey loves chewing the basket, so it works for both of them They both also love their mini haven playhouse, although Moose is scared to go to the 2nd floor, the big baby

her cage door is open almost 24/h because my boyfriend and I are on different sleeping schedules theres an open closet in the living room (I have no idea why there’s not a door) and theres a pach of carpet in it where she goes to sit if she gets tired of sitting in her cage LOL
I’m in the prosess of ordering the following:
                      1 Bunny Suprise Bag
                      “Hay Blend” Bunny Surprise Bag
1 Mini Willow Ball (The Busy Bunny)
                      1 Apple Pie Cookies
1 Timothy Tunnel (Oxbow) (I might get the maze instead though)

I don’t mind spending the money if it’ll keep her occupied and happy Hope she likes all the stuff when it gets here!

when I fed mine pellets, I found that the best exercise and fun game for them was to serve the pellets in a feeding ball for cats. It was a good way to activate them. I can strongly recommend this! As I am not feeding pellets anymore, I’m trying to figure out a way to serve hay or veggies in a fun way too.

Give her some cardboard boxes (no gloss), cut two holes in it, so that she can just manage to get into it, and then you can put some hay, some raisins, some shredded paper et.c. into it. She will most likely love chewing bigger holes in it, perhaps dig in it. She might also turn out to be a bunny who loves peeing on newspapers and then of course, remove the paper from the cardboard box. My first bunny who didn’t have any bunny company at that time loved his cardboard box. He was busy refurnishing it for 2 weeks.

This is our bunz daytime play area.  We switch it up every day so they won’t get bored.  We just got a bunch of larger boxes, cut holes, added tunnels & stairs.  Super cheap & can be done immediately.  I stopped by Costco on my way home from work today & picked up 4 new ones…the vegi ones are heavy-duty & good sized.  They have more elaborate stuff in their bedroom but appear to like the boxes & tunnels best.  Welcome by the way!

Ive made her a cardboard playhouse before, she checked it out briefly and left it alone for the most part then her daddy threw it out the next day so she didnt get another chance to use it. -.-
she does enjoy toilet paper rolls however, i give one to her (just the cardboard) when she’s in a really destructive mood!

I have thought about making a cardboard bunny maze like the image above but I just dont have the room. I live in a tiny L shapped apartment.
I’m really crossing my fingers that she’ll like the bunny surprise bag, timothy tunnel and the other things I thought she might like….
The shipping fee costs more than all the items put together! 😐 I hope its worth it!
