I’m very pleased to report that Jessica AKA evil bunny will be getting spayed on June 22nd!!!!  I am using my tax refund check to pay for her spay.  W/ meds, blood work, etc., it will be $200!  I’m hoping she will become less evil after the spay.

Also, hubby and I built an addition on her original cage.  Jess was living in a single level doggy cage.  After using the metal mesh grid block things and some bolt cutters, Jess now lives in a Deluxe condo in the sky!  It is almost 5 feet tall and has 5 levels.  I made a screen top that can be easily removed to access the bun.  This was our Memorial Day project.  I’m pleased to report that she loves her new cage.  She tends to spend more time in her cage that hopping around the living room.  I guess that means she likes her new cage.  I put her bed on the top shelf.  She enjoys peering at me on the couch w/ her beady bunny eyes.  We will post on Cool Habitats when we get the camera up and out.

If anyone hasn’t made a bunny habitat…..You got to do it!  Its really easier and I totally used her existing cage as the original frame.  Her cage fits perfectly within her cage space and she’s seems so much happier.

        Thanks Binky Bunny!

Oh love to see a pic of Jessica’s new parlour!

Gosh I’d so much like my buns to be in a tiered bunny house … at the moment they are in pens. I have been looking around for these NIC Cubes which are enforced together with pull ties … Aarrrrrfffffff apparently they don’t sell such things here in Perth, only in Melbourne which is the other side of Australia for me …. bit too far to go I think LOL.

The pens take up so much room and I would like something a bit more appropriate to reduce the amount of space the pens take up. Does anyone have any suggestions as I have been looking around for months.

Please excuse my OZ idiocy….but do they have Target stores down under?  This is where I got my cubes….I’m wondering if they are called something else in Aussie Lingo?  You need to buy the zip ties seperately at the hardware store.

You can also look for ferret cages.  If your buns aren’t too big, they should be able to negotiate a ferret cage just fine.  There are some awesome ones on ebay.  I’ve also found the cubes on ebay.  Jess is so happy w/ her cage!

i think that there’s a picture of someone who used copper tubes and hardware cloth to build a cage in the cool habitat page. You can also use conduite (I don’t know if I spelled that right- it’s tubing that goes around electircal wires when you install them in a building). You could also build a frame out of cut down 2 x 4s and put hardware cloth around that. You just have to make sure the ends of the hardware cloth are covered because they are very sharp

That’s great! For some reason I thought she was already spayed.
