Boy I sure hope Edson’s not sick.  I just found two tiny drops of liquid poop in his cage that he must have just done in the last 1/2 hour. The drops look like soy sauce.  Not cecotropes. Never ever seen this before.  I cleaned his litter box this morning and he has peed and pooped normally since then except for these two tiny drops.  No changes whatsoever in his diet.  He’s eating hay and drinking water.   I read Dana Krempels article on GI stasis and I really don’t think it’s the start of that.  He’s totally normal in every way. No poopy butt or anything.  Do you think this is just a freak thing or what do you think??????

Since the litter box is now clean, you can watch his output today.  If the spots are tiny, they could be something as simple as he tracked water in and out of the box that made these little drops.  If he produces more of them, particularly if you can see them in the box, then I would be more concerned.  Look for the usual signs of intestinal distress, like hunching and/or strange flopping, teeth grinding, lack of energy, no interest in food and water.  If he is eating his normal portions and is producing the usual hard, round pellets, then I think you are OK.

Please let us know how he is doing today.

I’m so glad you are a forum leader!  The drops do not looked liked they were tracked. They are perfect little drops like they were placed there. I will watch him like a hawk today.  Right now he’s sound asleep in the maze and flopped like normal.  Thanks Osprey!  I’ll keep you posted.

Everything is  fine.  His poops are completely normal. HOWEVER, my keyboard died a couple hours ago and as we inspected we found my perfect non chewing bunny (yeah right) ate right throught t he keyboard wire!!!  I wonder if that’s why he had atat of liquid poop earlier!  I have never had to cover the wires before because he NEVER chewed! Now I have the wires completely covered with the end of the xpen that I was trying to eliminate!  Found a great use for it.  That rascal.

Hm. *thinks* I’d check his teeth then too, just to be sure there’s no problem there, but…. >.< Sorry to hear about your keyboard!
                    Did he swallow any wire?
                    Silly bunny. 0_o

His teeth were checked before I went on vacation – early July.  They look and feel perfect to me.  No he made a nice clean slice thru the wires!

Good to hear that Edson is OK!  Sorry about the keyboard though, wires are just something that bunnies cannot resist.

Im glad to hear he wasnt sick! I too know how devistating it is when you find all those chewed cords, however the teeth marks on mine werent the bunny kind.. nope they were the doggy kind 😐 yes my female dog (willow) loves to chew cords up whenever she is feeling tired of poorly. So my cords are doggy proofed lol glad everything turned out ok!
