Since Jessica's been hanging w/ the kitties so much...I wondered...do they have any night vision?  If not, should I be leaving the lights on for her at night?

Though they don't have night vision, their vision is best in low light (dusk & dawn type light).  They don't see well in bright light and Dark.    But those sensitive whiskers and their ability to feel thuds and thumps within the ground can really help them find their way within a dark burrow.

some of rescue visits do school visits, i know the rabbit haven has done some

medusa seems to have pretty good night vision. she can still aim on things she wants to jump on (into standing laundry hampers, my bed, etc.)

you could use a nightlight if you want. its nice as a precautionary so that i dont step on medusa if i have to get up in the middle of the night incase she is lying out in the middle (i have really bad vision when the contacts are out at night)

Bunnies are experts making a "mental map"  so that even when their vision isn't  the sharpest at times, they still can easily get around.  It's part of their prey nature, their instincts to be able to do this.

You may notice that when rabbits spot something new in the room, the first thing they want to do is figure out what it is and where it is.   They will go around it, through it, and over it several times  to make a it part of the mental map.

A rabbits survival depends on them knowing where things are at all times even when they can't see things so well.   That's when their whiskers come in handy to help confirm when they reach an object, a wall, a bed etc, etc, etc.

Theyr eyesight must be pretty good in the dark as my Teddy managed to find his way round the gate across the laminate flooring and into my bedroom to play at 2.30am! lol!
