So I was at Pet Land today, just looking around (I will never buy from them *shudder*) and I saw they had “mini lop eared rabbits”. So I picked up the last one, and she was a little gal obviously still a baby but she had hugeeee feet! Now, Tofu was a dwarf and he was a little larger than this girl, but his back feet weren’t nearly as big! So I’m wondering if rabbits are like dogs, in which the size of their feet dictates how big they’ll be?

Already looking at rescue bunnies…. we’ll see if the right one comes along…

lops have really big fluffy back feet compared to non-lops. I looove my Squirrels feet.

My Pepper has very dainty little feet and has stayed a small bun, but Piglet started with tiny tootsies and now has huge clod hoppers with loads of floof between the toes and he is a mid size angora on the largish side.

Lops definitely have larger feet but it isn’t necessarily a case of them “growing into their feet”, they just have large feet.

I agree with Beka. Bindi has very big feet compared to his size. Lops tend to have longer, wider feet. When my niece was 5, she was sitting on the couch with Bindi and she goes “Look, his feet are the same size as mine!”.

Why do lops have larger feet?

Interesting topic! I have all Tans and they have GIANT back feet!!! But the rabbits are full-grown now and only weigh around 4.25 pounds each!
