I recently moved in with my boyfriend, who has two house cats, and I am trying to let the animals all get used to each other.I have a 4 month old bunny, so far my approach has been this: the first couple days they smell each other through the cage. And now I have graduated to having Cuddles on the couch with me, and allowing the cats over to see her. (I have lived here almost 2 weeks) One of the cats is 12 and doesnt show too much interest, but the 3 year old will come over and snuggle next to her, and has tried to play with her, though he is still nervous and usually jumps down if she bumps him with her head. I was hoping maybe I can get her on the floor with her harness.
Any ideas to have a happy household?

HIya I have absolutely no idea about cats but I am in the middle of bonding two bunnies and bookmarked the house rabbit society page on bonding. It also included a link on how to bond cats and rabbits.

Tallullu has given you a great link! regarding bonding.  

 I just wanted to add a safety tip:  Be sure the cats nails are always trimmed.   Even during play, when I cat is not trying to harm a rabbit, it can scratch a bunny.  I've heard of bunny's eyes being scratched and even if it's just a skin wound, rabbits have a tendency to develop abscesses from cuts, bites and scratches.  

Also, your bunny is reaching sexual maturity at 4 months and may try to get fresh with the cats, even females will hump to show dominance,  which in turn could cause the cats to get agitated, aggressive or scared - which in turn could cause them to lash out with their paws.

Also be careful that the cats can't reach in with their paws into the bunny pen/cage.

Tallullu - I went into your post and created a direct link from your posted address to rabbit and cat site.

It is such a great resource and i wanted to make it easier for people to get to it  - just by clicking on it.  In the future if you want to do it yourself, you do that by:   After you paste the link, you click on the little world icon with a chain link in front of it (in toolbar, 2nd row, 3rd icon from the right - location may vary slightly depending on your engine)

Then you just paste the link in the window there and click OK.
