Milo passed away yesterday unexpectedly...way too young.

He'd been huddled and uncomfortable-looking for a few days, but we chalked it up to his dental issues and post-surgical discomfort.  Maybe he had been sick all along, though his apetite was still intact.  Yesterday James went to check on Peppy and Milo (who were in temporary housing for winter break) and to give Milo his medications, when suddenly Milo started screaming and twitching.

And that was it.

We only adopted him in March, but it feels like he's been with us forever.  I remember him catching my eye in the shelter with his beautiful fur and I'm glad that we gave him the best life we could while he was with us.  When he first came home he was a scared little bun who hid in the cage all day.  However, he soon developed the habit of jumping straight into our laps and demanding pets, and was always our fearless little climber. While Peppy was petrified of vacuum cleaners and car rides, Milo couldn't care less and easily settled into whatever was going on.  I hope he's settled into his new home now...binky free, my sweet boy.  I hope you know how much we love you.

RIP Milo 2009 - 1/5/2012

I am so so sorry for your loss! He was a beautiful bun. I love the photo of Milo and Peppy together. Peppy looks so at ease and Milo, indeed, looks fearless. I hope that you may all find comfort in each other.
BINKY FREE, MILO! You will always be loved.

Thanks, everyone. It was all so sudden...came out of nowhere, sigh.

Peppy is doing ok...James said that afterward, she groomed Milo for a little bit and laid down next to him. We're keeping an eye on her to make sure she'll be okay, but so far things seem alright. Whenever I see Peppy now I feel like something's missing without Milo next to her .

I'm so sorry! You did all you could, and it sounds like he went fast from something. It's a shock.
You all gave him a wonderful life complete with a best bunny buddy. He was very loved.

My condolences to you and James.  I'm just so sad to read about this.
He's definitely left too soon, though I'm glad he was adopted by you guys and had a bunny mate before he went to the Bridge.

Binky Free Handsome Milo!  (((Hugs)))) for Peppy bun.

Grief can take care if itself, but to get the full value of a joy you must have somebunny to divide it with

I am late in reading this but I wanted to also offer my condolences. I am so sorry. Milo was a very handsome bunny...and how sweet that he would jump into your lap for attention. He was lucky to have been with you for the last part of his life. What a great and loving place to spend the rest of his days.

((((Hugs))))

Binky Free Milo
