I've not posted about Lucy as she was not one of my own Rabbits, but one at our shelter. Lucy was a very large flemish giant who came to our rescue with a litter of babies over a year ago.

Lucy was a big sweet girl, a good mother and a beautiful rabbit. She passed away Saturday of unknown causes, I do not know her approximate age.
Lucy was being adopted with one of her sons this Christmas by a lady who fostered the bunch when they were young and had just come in, it was hard to find a foster home for such a large rabbit and 7 babies with little time. Lucy would have been adoption number 1500. Since she was techinically adopted (just waiting to go home) we have counted her as 1500 a special number to remember Lucy.

Everyone who's met her is shocked and saddened. My thoughts are with her Adoptive family who didn't even get to bring her home for Christmas

I'm so sorry to hear about Lucy. I've never had a Flemmie, but I'm fascinated by them and I know her adopted family must be so sad. She was a lucky bunny to have found you when she and her babies needed you most. If you have a photo I'll add her to the 2010 memorial
