I haven't had internet for the past few days.
I took Eddie to the vet on Tuesday. He was getting really despondent by that time. They kept him overnight to get fluids in him and try to get him to eat. He just kept getting weaker. He had a huge mass that was apparently almost the size of his stomach. The vet and I think it was probably the carpet and other junk he had ate over the years. I tried my best to keep him from eating the carpet. He wouldn't do it for the longest time, but then would start up again. I'd spray him and put him back in the pen but it didn't deter him too much. Anyways, the vet tried to operate, but Eddie couldn't even handle the anesthia. He passed away when they tried to put him under. He was just too weak by that point.
If it hadn't been a 3 day weekend, I think he would've survived. It was just bad timing all the way around. So now he's at the Rainbow Bridge with all the other beloved bunnies. And I miss him so very much. |

I'm very sorry to hear about Eddie. Sometimes there's very little that can be done for a sick bunny. He was a very lucky bunny to have such a great home with you. Rest in peace, sweet little bunny! |

Thanks everyone! Lolli is doing fine. No behavioral changes or anything. She was a bit on edge Tuesday night when I took him to the vet, but since then, she's been normal. She's not a "people bunny" really and I always pretty much left her alone in terms of handling and stuff. I talked to her and would always try to pet her, but generally respected her NO TOUCHING wishes. lol I spent a few hours on the floor tonight. She came up to check me out and mouth the pillow. She didn't nibble or bite the pillowcase but she was definitely taking it in her mouth so I dunno what that was. But no weirder than her licking the end table so oh well. lol When she was so close to me, I tried to give her a kiss and we ended up nose bumping each other. Or rather, she nose bumped my nose. She has let me give her nose pets a couple of times today so I'm wondering if she's getting lonely. Along with being so heartbroken over Eddie, I have been worried sick about Lolli cause I know I do not meet all her bunny needs since I'm human and not a rabbit. If that makes sense. So I keep talking to her and checking on her and I think I'm driving her nuts. lol Tomorrow I am taking laundry over to my mom's and since I'm worried about Lolli, she's going with me. When I said I worried about them, I was not kidding. I will be taking her outside for the first time to see how she likes it. We'll start with us both in the pen and if she likes that ok, I'll put the harness and leash on her and we'll check out the backyard. If not, we'll move the pen and her into my mom's kitchen. LOL But I have lots of laundry to do and I expect to be over there for most the afternoon and I don't want to leave Lolligirl by herself that long. Yes, she is probably fine, but still. Yep, crazy, worrying bunny lady! |

Does Lolli travel well? I'm thinking you might actually be better leaving her in her home. i.e. Not too many changes and new experiences at a time when she's already adjusting to a major change. Having you around in the normal manner/ normal routines helps her, would help her sense of security. Only time will help with the grief though. For you and her. |
