I'm having a little trouble with my two rabbits. I just bought a baby dutch female, because I felt bad for my lionhead Leo when I was at work. Maggie is not yet spayed as she's only 11 weeks, but Leo has been neutered for about a year. Anyways I have been letting Leo sniff her while she's in her cage, and it hasn't really been going to well, everytime she gets her nose close to his he tries to bite her, luckily she's oblivious right now. I don't know if it's out of jealousy or because she's still a baby, but now I'm concerned that they will never bond. I need advice/suggestions!!

I agree with Sam and Lady. There`s no point in doing any bonding work until she is spayed.

I guess I was getting a little anxious for them to meet, but I was more or less trying to get them to see one another just for a couple minutes at a time. I'm definitely going to wait now. I just hope I didn't ruin it for them..

I would go a step further and even recommend that they be housed in different areas of the house. If their pens are in the same space, there can be injuries while one or the other is out playing. And removing her from the area until she's spayed might trick him into thinking she's a different bunny when it does come time to bond. You can use this time to form a strong connection with her yourself.

Leo has his own room already, which eventually is going be for both of them, but I have been keeping Maggie in the living room away from him. The hardest thing for me right now is making sure I give them an equal amount of attention.
