Hello!

My husband and I have had two rabbits for about 2.5 years. They were bonded before we got them and were from the wild (aged at the time around 2), I guess that makes them roughly 4.5 now. Anyway. We have the space and time and love for a third rabbit. Also, we really love our current bunns but they aren't particularly affectionate with us at all. We accept them as they are but recently the idea of a rabbit that might let us snuggle it just a little... is very tempting.

We've found a 1.5 month old bunn and very much want to bring it into the family. What are the steps for bonding a baby to adults? I've read about bringing in a third adult but I'm assuming it will be different. If anyone can offer some insight I would very much appreciate it.

I would wait until the 3rd is grown and spayed or neutered. Hormones can cause all sort of problems and break any kind of bond you get. It isn't worth it to chance the fights and injuries, and subsequent vet bills.

I think that is what I'll do. I've been looking at more shelters in the area and there seem to be a lot of 4 month old already neutered bunns. Do you think the bonding should basically be done and expected to be the same as if there were two adults?

Yeah. You don't want to jump instantly into 1 on 2 sessions, you want it to be one on one just like with a pair. Bond 2 together, then switch it to the other 2, so the new bun gets bonded to each existing bun individually before putting them all together, if I am explaining this right
