Hi ASG,
If you're working on litter training your bunny, purchase at least one litterbox, since the idea is to confine the area your bunny using as a bathroom. Also - if your hutch has a wire bottom it can lead to problems with sore hocks, so I would highly recommend layering mats or newspaper over the wire bottom to protect your bunny's paws.
Newspaper is safe for bunnies, and makes a great base under litter. Most people use litter because it really is good at absorbing the odor and urine. My personal favorite is called CareFresh - but there are a number of other rabbit safe litters you can use.
Popular & safe litter choices: Care Fresh, Yesterday's News, Cat Country, Critter Country, Papurr, wood stove pellets (very inexpensive, but it's harder to find in the summer)
Avoid / unsafe: pine or cedar shavings or chips, clumping litters, corn cob, clay litter
