My rabbits like to go out in my enclosed porch a lot but I was wondering if I should still let them have 24/7 access to it or if I should only let them out when it is a good temp outside. Do they know to come in when they get to hot/cold?

Do you have cold winters or mild? Is your porch completely predator proof?

The winters are mild. I live in Southern California. The porch in completely predator proofed.

I'd let them decide, then. I'd say if it goes below 50-ish to close it off? They do have a comfy coat on though, and as long as they can't get damp in any way, they should be good.

i agree with S&L...as long as the porch is very secure (both against bunnies getting out and predators getting in) they should be able to move about if they're uncomfortable with the weather.

They'll love it! I'd advise only letting them come and go when you are at home though.

I don't know if you have raccoons where you live but do take extra care to proof against them. BB had some raccoons unlatch her laundry door one time!

Ditto that. Raccoons are incredibly clever. I would be too nervous to let them have free access when I wasn`t home.

I ditto-you just never know; so I would only let them have free choice when I am home-just in case. Also if it's open someone could use that to get access to your home possibly. Not sure what the set up is. BUt I would lock up when I go and bunnies can go out when I was home.
I wish I lived somewhere with mild winters!!

Thanks, we don't have raccoons here but I never thought about people.
