Hi guys, so my steps just moved in with a kitten. The kitten is alright with Penny. She doesn’t bother Penny, in fact a little on the scared side. But I’m not sure about Penny. The only sign that may suggest that Penny’s bothered by the kitten is that her nose is twitching a little faster than normal. But she eats her veggies and everything like normal. The kitten will sit there and Penny will just continue eating her veggies. Is she bothered by the kitten? Will she ever get used to the kitten? ;(

It may take a while for them to get completely used to each other. I would just say until the kitten learns that bunny rabbit is off the menu I would keep Penny in a pen with a top to it. I have two cats with my bun right now and even though they know she is off the menu there are times they get frisky and go after each other. I’m really glad that we have her in a cage because when our cats get in that mood she’s kept safe from them.

You will just have to watch for any future playful behavior on the kitty’s part. As she grows, she may get more brave. You just have to watch and make sure your kitty never tries to scratch, even in play or curiosity. Especially around the face where lips/eyes are more exposed. (and ears, as bunny fur is thinner there)
