I have a holland lop just over three weeks. I know it's very young but the breeder sells them that young and I have experience raising other animals from a very young age. According to the breeder my bunny, Posey, has been separated from it's mother for 5 days now and eats completely on her own. So far, she's right. I have Posey home and she's eating hay constantly in addition to pellets and drinking water. Her droppings are also very normal and formed. She is also very warm with me and loves to be cuddled.

Everything is going so well, but I just worry it's too good to be true. Is it possible things could just all the sudden go down hill tomorrow? She went on an hour car ride today and obviously it didn't really stress her out. Could she just be a resilient little gal?

Basically, is she in the clear?

Unfortunately only time will tell. I hope for your sake and bunny that she will be ok.
Why a breeder would sell them at this age is beyond me. The time around weaning is when they're most at risk.

You are probably already doing this but keep an eagle eye on her poo. Keep her on the feed she was having for now. Make sure she can access a water bottle or crock properly.

If you don't have already, find a rabbit knowledgeable vet now- just in case. If she shows sign of illness you will need to act quickly.

Goodluck!
Whoever says "It's only a rabbit" has obviously never loved a rabbit.

I ditto jerseygirl. I am happy to hear she is doing so well, but keep a close eye on her.

This might be helpful -- http://en.allexperts.com/q/Rabbits-...-young.htm This is someone in a similar situation receiving some good advice from a rabbit-savvy expert.
